Any channel renaming?

I wonder if anyone has come across a hidden feature allowing users to rename channels on the DHD4000.

It would, for example, be nice to rename BBC NEWS 24 to just News 24 so that when you select the channel list it didn't display 'BBC NEW...'

I know from experience that there are undocumented features in there, is there one for this anywhere?

What 'undocumented features' have you already discovered then? I am only aware of the additional menu obtained by entering '1004' from the technical menu.

As for your renaming question - sorry, have never found this facility or read of anyone discussing this ability.

Cheers

As far as I know, the manual tune feature, though quite visible, was not mentioned in the V2.3.9 update details when it first appeared. Following from that, the manual 'add' feature, mentioned in my other post this morning, was never documented.

As far as anything else is concerned, it comes under the heading of "I don't know what I don't know", hence my question.

Well, BBC PARLIAMENT became BBC Parliament recently, so there is hope.

I wish they would do as they did in the olden days (oooh, I remember it well!)... BBC1, BBC2 and thus BBC3 and BBC4. BBC Parliament would, of course, be renamed BBC5.

News 24 could be known as BBC24, and that would give them plenty of scope for new channels (BBC6 - BBC23)
