Convinced that Mark will win...

I am 99% convinced that there is only Mark Ramprakash who can win this series. I don't fancy him but think there are many that do and many that like him for his dancing ability (like me), so if you combine all those votes then there is no way anyone can overtake him and win this thing (just look at the DS polls for proof). Does anyone else have a theory on this ?

I think it's too early to say, much as I'd love Mark and Karen to win. I think they have a good chance at it, but he has to keep producing the goods, and each week the points available (in the 1-9 system) grow less and the public vote becomes more and more critical... so... we'll see.

I'd love it if Karen and Mark won, if not at LEAST to reach the final. It gets worse as the weeks go on and never get complacent, keep on voting!

The thing about the DS polls is that there are only about 390 of us. I had always thought there were thousands of us on this forum!

Nope, not even sure they'll get through on any given Saturday, definately not thinking about him reaching the final or even winning, just extremely glad if/when they do get through, no predictions from me.

I don't think you can say that Mark and Karen will definitely win this series just yet. When the series started people thought that Emma and Darren would win, then when Louisa and Vincent did their amazing Jive people decided that she would win the show. Now it is Mark and Karen who look like they could win.

I could be wrong but i think there could be someone else in this competition who just needs to come out of his/hers shell, which could lead to them winning this series. I think if they do a great performance on Saturday they stand a good chance of winning.

Well I hope they win but the public can get complacement about voting if they continue to score highly with the judges.

That is my main fear so i vote like a fool!

You have to take each week as it comes. I can understand why people are thinking this at this stage given the evidence but, I agree, he has to keep producing the dances required. There is such a strong and improving group around them that I still feel the title could go to one of many.

All I hope is that this year people now vote from the heart, not tactically or against the judges, and bring us a wonderful final with three deserving couples.

Too many weeks to go, but likewise feel they deserve to at least be in the final if not win with what they are producing : a joy to watch, pure entertainment (a wow of a Salsa) and Mark and Karen REALLY look like they are having the time of their lives : long it may it continue. But, most of the rest are also doing fabulously well : I don't want it to end ...

Gosh! I'd have thought so too. So 390 DS peeps vs 8 million bbc viewers ~ even if only 1/10 of those votes its still a massive difference!

Yes, I too am convinced Mark will win. I don't think in any year before there has been such overwhleming support on this forum for one couple.

Also, I think the theory of "anyone can come out of their shell and steal it" works for the first few weeks, but then it's pretty obvious who are the good dancers and who are just never going to improve.

For example, did we think Jan would ever come out of her shell? In previous years, Jill and Darren Gough started doing very, very well from around week 3 or 4.

I don't think he is the ONLY one who can win! In my opinion there are several couples who could actually win: Mark and Karen, Emma and Darren, Ray and Camilla and Matt and Carol!!!! I think Mark and Karen might win though, and they really would deserve it if they did! But again, I do think it is too early to speculate!

I would certainly not bet against him winning it right now. Unless something drastic changes in the next couple of shows it's beginning to look like a foregone conclusion.

I'm just hoping that Ray and Carol can leap frog Louisa and Emma. A Mark/Ray/Carol final would be my ultimate top 3.

I think they've peaked too early ...

I think a Mark, Ray, Carol final will be the favourite at this stage but I fear for Ray he hasn't seemed (to me at least) to have captured the public's imagination like Mark and Carol.

Suspect Louisa and Emma will both be out before the final

Claire i totally agree, Mark, Ray and Carol would make for a great final.

I also think it looks like a foregone conclusion - unless Mark does something to blot his copybook which looks unlikely. He's the runaway winner on this forum, and outside the forum everyone I've spoken to thinks he's wonderful (just look at the pensioners' panel on ITT last week). I also think it's a shame because the certainty makes it less interesting to watch. It seems just a question of in what order the others go out. Last year I was routing for Darren Gough but right up until he was announced the winner I thought Colin was going to get it. This year I'd be very surprised indeed if anyone but Mark won it.

You must have been reading my mind (a frightening place to be at times ).

Of course, anything can happen, but they are the complete SCD package at the moment.

I'm still not convinced that Emma isn't going to win - I think that was the plan, Emma would walk it and the children in need single would get loads of exta publicity?

No one really could of predicted how dull she would be but I'm sure they will have a few more goes at spinning how great she is so she makes it to the final at least!

It's not a pity. It would be if there was 8 awful dancers and one pretty good. This time the quality of dance is amazing and for a professional to say she feels and equal to her partner is something we should celebrate with open arms.

Or perhaps Emma will make it to the final because she's actually a very good dancer - still one of the best in the competition.

I would absolutely love Mark and Karen to win as I feel they are the complete SCD package. I do think that they have caught people's imagination - and not just here in this forum.

However it's way too early to tell. I think Louisa and Emma - who have both been abit disappointing imo - can and will get alot better. Plus they have naturally bigger fanbases to the average voter on SCD than Mark. Likewise I wouldn't be surprised if Peter got to the final ahead of better dancers.

So while Mark is in the lead now I think it's far from a foregone conclusion. I know I will be nervous for him every week.

It's too early to predict IMO. Even though we're approaching the half way mark, a number of the couples have been judged on only 1 Latin or 1 Ballroom dance as yet. Several of the better couples have not been particularly consistent so far. In addition, the voters in reality shows tend to be quite fickle and we don't have much information on who is popular at the moment anyway....DS polls are not a great indicator in my experience.

I reckon it will be another 3 or 4 shows before we can start making some educated guesswork as to the likely outcome.

Personally (and unfortunately for the show) I think it's now a foregone conclusion. I cannot see Mark not winning, even if he were to run over a puppy.

The bookies have him odds on favourite now, and they are not wrong very often.

For the last three, they have it as a Mark, Emma, Louisa final, although I think Carol may be there instead of one of the Babies (probably Emma)
