I know they're probably amongst the top three couples, but Mark and Karen just don't do it for me at all.

People talk about the bias towards Emma and Darren, but I think Mark and Karen have got a lot of sway as well - not least from Arlene!

Its because people enjoy watching them dance at the end of the day its the public who decide, the judges only have so much input Arlene's comments just do not help in fact it probably hinders them in that respect.

I agree. A lot of people on this forum seem to be complaining that Emma and Darren are the judges favourites in the show and ignoring the fact that the judges also favour Karen and Mark.

Looked into his eyes too...and he was grinning - still didn't get it.

I think there scores have been fair though, Arlene has marked them lower on occasions than other judges

The judges do gush over his dancing, but I think he has deserved the praise and the high marks and that has not always been the case for Emma, which is where the favouritism comments come from.

I will fall off my chair in complete surprise if Mark doesn't win the competition, but I think who gets to the final will be interesting. I don't think both Louisa and Emma will make it - in fact, I think one might have quite an early shock exit.

I agree Erinfan. The judges DO like him - but I do feel that so far he really has earned the praise (and points). If I've anything against him it's that he does seem like such an obvious winner. I'd like a bit of a battle. On the other hand, I thought Zoe seemed by far the best last time and she didn't win; and I thought Colin was so much better than Darren... Maybe Peter will suddenly start burning up the dancefloor and lose Mark the popular vote!

The best thing is that everyone likes different couples and we're all being well entertained by some wonderful dancing, outfits, choreography, singing etc

I've enjoyed the series as much as ever, perhaps more this year, as the standard from the start seems higher. It's nice to see some new pros too (my hubby liked Flavia but sadly she went out early).

We all have our favourites in dance and/or personality and to those who are not keen on Mark do not go here Maryjay ....

If you want to post your dislike of someone, make sure you get the right person

Mark IS gorgeous, Karen's one of my fave pros, but there are other couples I am enjoying more...

I think this general feeling is the biggest problem they've got. There is an awful long way to go yet, and it's no good to be too good too early or judges favourite. It's going to be incredibly difficult for them to top last week. I think it will be won by someone who 'goes on a journey' and gets better from where they are now.

If Peter can find a way of doing the Latin that works he would be a runaway winner. Seriously. Otherwise it is difficult to say - I don't think there is a Darren this year: someone who is good enough, and fun, with cute family, without being good enough for the judges to love them and people start feeling its a fix. I think it's absolutely wide open.

I think it is one of the most open contests of any of the series. There were clear favourites in series 1-3, but this time round different couples keep emerging as potential winners.

Early on it was always Emma and Darren, but they've slipped mid-table for a couple of weeks and now the other pairs are moving forward.

I love Mark more than I love chocolate, but in no way do I think it is a foregone conclusion that he will win.

I would love him to get to the final, but at the end of the day its all for charity, and the fact that he is having a ball and has found out how fabulous he is at dancing already makes him a winner!

No way would i say he will win. I think he is one of the most exciting dancers on SCD yet, as he has natural ability and is not too technical and is more light hearted(a thing that let Colin down and Denise I think who were equally as good), but this is SCD. Do not under estimate the EE vote with Louisa (Jill and Chris Parker anyone...though Jill deserved it) and other votes. I think 5 couples could still do it (Ray and Carole are very big dark horses I think)....it certainly is not a forgone conclusion and puts huge pressuire on Karen and Mark that people thinks it is. On the other hand it takes it off Emma.

Mark and Karen HARDY are fantastic!

Ill be gutted if they dont win - or at least make the final.

So true. M&K being out in front and being raved about helps Louisa and especially Emma. I think it really takes the pressure off for them both. Do not underestimate these two at all. They will get stronger and I still bet both will reach the semis at least - if not one of them win.

As you say Louisa has the EE vote which can be very strong and loyal. (If you go on the official SCD site Louisa seems to have had far more comments left than the others). I don't mean it in a bad way but she will have a big teen vote behind her. She amazingly won sexiest female at the British Soap Awards - I say amazingly not because she isn't attractive but because she is so young looking - it could have only really have been young girls that voted for her.

It's going to be incredibly close between 4/5 couples. As much as I love Ray and am starting to appreciate Carol I do wonder how they will fare with the public compared to the other leading celebs.

Nothing is certain until the final votes are in! Mark hasn't done much ballroom yet and neither he nor Karen seemed that convinced about the current state of their American Smooth on IT2 tonight. I'd love for Ramps to win, but only if he remains the best dancer. Maybe he has peaked too soon, maybe he will get even better, maybe he'll suffer a viewer backlash if Arlene doesn't shut her stupid mouth. Who knows?

I don't imagine Karen and Mark are going to stop working hard because they think it's a foregone conclusion. And I don't want to jinx things by thinking it myself. Anyone could go at any time.
