Claire and Brendan will be lucky to stay in over the next couple of weeks if they carry on with all the attitude and do anymore 'illegal' moves, because I think people will get sick of it.

Add to this the fact that Claire isn't that great. She's not the worst, but there is much stronger competition in this series.

I like Claire and Brendan because they're fun and she just laughs at everything esp the judges the comments. She dosen't care what people think of her which I think is good.

However as much as I like them, they probably wont win. The Dark horse of SCD is Carol and Matthew. Think it would be good if they get to the final along with Mark and Karen. Emma will probably be there too, although her a Louisa will hopefully get eliminated...

I think Claire actually moves pretty well. She has a good natural movement. I think what is against her - as we have seen Brendan mention in training clips - is that she can't pick up the steps quickly. Brendan needs to work the routines to suit her. I love Brendan but don't see them winning this year but I do see them producing several more dances and hopefully wowing us with the next couple

I'm not sure what it is that I don't like about Matt. He can move his hips... I just don't think it all slots together. He can't act and his emotions/passion don't come across when he dances... he's not a bad mover but he's not great like Ray & Mark. There's been nothing he's done yet to get me excited... hate to agree with Craig but "bland bland bland". And sorry if I've repeated myself cause I think I said this somewhere else.

Matt tries to move his hips and is holding back as self conscience.

Claire is just stiff. If she could get the fluidness of floppy Fiona she would be great.

I really don't think she is stiff. She looked like she was flowing very elegantly in tonight's training video of her American Smooth Foxtrot - at least I think it's going to be a Foxtrot rhythm by the steps they were dancing.

Well considering she suffers from arthritis she does amazingly well and never complains about aches and pains.
She admits its under control as much as is possible with drugs etc however there`s no drug available as yet that is a 100% cure so she still must suffer somewhat. Very stoical of her indeed !

quite

i'd love to see her get that good in the time there is left but realistically can't see it happening as there are people who have got to a certain standard already.

I would have said that last year about Darren Gough. I don't think Claire will win but I wish someone could come close to the smug Karen and Mark, just my opinion.

I hope she leaves next week to be honest. She clearly doesn't have much public support.

Absolutely no way is Mark smug. Karen is a fabulous dancer and teacher and has a right to be a bit smug having taught non-dancer Mark to perform like he does.

He is a very unassuming man who has really blossomed and is a superb dancer.

Largely due to Brendan's devoted following I think. Claire just doesn't get any more likeable I'm afraid - she doesn't appear to have a shred of humility, comes over as arrogant and cocky and simply isn't attractive to watch. Comments like "the public find us interesting to watch" infuriate me (actually, I think "the public" would find it more interesting to watch your partner dancing on his own Claire!) Now that
Peter's gone, she is for me by far the weakest dancing celebrity left. So with a bit of luck, next week....

Well if there is any justice she will be gone next week. She is by far the weakest dancer left, although that doesn't seem to count for much this year unfortunately, which is why better dancers are going and weak dancers staying in longer than they should. I find Brendan and Claire as a couple really boring now. They played the controversy card for all it was worth to stay in longer, but I really do feel it is their time to go now.

Claire is not by far the weakest dancer left. On Saturday there were others who put in a weaker performance. It all depends on the form of the day now. She has as much right as anyone else to be there. Her performances of the last two weeks have been very good and without controversy.
You might find them boring Dancingles - I enjoy their dances and find them the most interesting couple. It is others that I find boring but I'm too diplomatic to say who. Its all a matter of taste

Someone posted on a thread that she reminded them of a drag queen and although that was harsh, it was in a way true!! She might be a fabulous person but I cannot warm to her. She seems to spend her dancing routines walking around the dance floor and I have never seen her really dance perhaps that is Brendan's fault as he is in charge of the dances. For ONCE I agreed with the judges when they said that their dance on Saturday was more of a pole dance. She is TRYING so hard to be the sexy hexy woman and she is not suceeding in my book!! Sorry don't kill me out there. I do like Brendan!!!!
I freely admit to being the one who early on referred to Claire King as a drag queen - I have not changed my mind but believe you have described my feelings more eloquently!

That is cruel - she is actually ill and on permanent medication for arthritis, the pole dance comment was very offensive and the posts from Dancing girl too. That was written after the Salsa so maybe a litte more understandable than the post from nellykupjac who has put it in again. Claire was elegant the last two weeks and danced beautifully - I find it sad that she has to put up with this sort of verbal abuse. I just hope she and her parents never venture here as I can imagine they would be deeply hurt.

Who was Claire sticking her tongue out at when they were saved on Saturday? It looked like it was whichever couple was next to her, who hadn't been saved. It came across as very arrogant.

i was under the impression she was sticking her tongue out at the judges - but it came across as being done in jest and not malice.

i'd like to see claire at least get into the finals because i think without her and brendan this series would have been really boring....but i honestly think she only has one or two weeks left
also i think shes improved immensely - her american smooth was one of my favourite dances of the series.
and i think she has the right attitude - she trains hard but doesn't seem to lose focus of what the shows about - a nice mix of entertainment, dancing and fundraising.

i personally think the final will be mark and karen (who i love but for me mark is boring personality wise), louisa and vincent (i really like louisa but vincent scares me somewhat!) and if there are 3 in the final, emma and darren (who i'm not so keen on, they seem a little presumptuous that they'll be in the final - so being in the bottom 2 this week should have done them good)

Claire was sticking her tongue out at Len who probably was expressing annoyance at them being voted back in. Everyone knows it wasn't directed at another couple. Apparently she was also saying 'it is war now'. It seems Len wanted them out, hence his remark to Arlene and Craig 'well done, you two!' after they had judged Brendan and Claire's routine to be good. Brendan and Claire are well aware of this and it is an attitude like that which probably led to Brendan's complaint about the judging. Len should be more careful what he says especially on air - the right couple will win and it will not be Claire. However, the show will lose credibility if the judges try to influence the outcome and even Bruce feels it is necessary to criticise them, albeit subtly

I agree with Liz on this.
I took Claire sticking out her tounge to be in jest at Bruno/and or Len! I found Bruno's comments, that she is not matching Brendan with her dancing to be wrong, because as others have pointed out, she does suffer from arthritis, she obviously has limitiations, and I believe Brendan is well aware of this, so he obviously put together a routine to suit her, i.e American Smooth & Tango, and for that matter, if you look back at the Jive, the kicks & flicks were both of them together rather than the usual side by side and if you notice on the AS & Tango Brendan keeps a gentle guiding hand helping her through the dance, which is what the pros are supposed to do - put a routine together that SUITS their celeb. I really do feel Claire is doing well, no she won't make the final, but all things considered the lady has got guts. I really do think Brendan has done a fine job with Claire this year, I hope the rumours on the forum are not true - Hope Brendan is back next year!
Just go for it Claire & Brendan.

And how does everyone know that ? Nothing in the footage would give any information as to whom Claire's tongue pointing was aimed at. And even if it was Len, how on earth do you know what, if anything, he was allegedly doing to provoke it ?
Sometimes this blind devotion goes way over the top guys.

Of course I don't know neither am I blindly devoted. Why would I be - I'm not a particular fan of Claire but I think she seems to be a nice person and I feel she has been subjected to unnecessary below-the-belt personal insults in this thread. Just read back some of the posts.
However, I do stick by what I say in that it was not directed at any other couple - they all get on far too well for that - and judging by Len's attitude towards her and Brendan on Saturday I can well imagine it was directed towards him. I don't know, but I would be willing to take a bet on it..

It was obvious that she was sticking her tongue out at the judges - sort of "I told you so"!
