How was it obvious? I have looked a couple of times and it looks like it was at Peter and Erin - her head went to the right and looked like it was on their eye level - alomst like eye contact had been made!

I thought it was a friendly tongue poke though not malicious.

I highly respect Clare for her attitude in this competition. She work so hard and never complain like Emma or others. She never mention her illness and she's just get on with it and work very hard. What more can one expect from a contestant for a programme like SCD? For those viewers who are looking to support their favorite on day 1, regardless their performance, and to do this they try so hard to undermine other people's hard work. I simply don't think this is the programme for these viewers. I think this programme is about bringing the good nature of people, not programme like Big Brother who you are supposed to be mean and horrible to be famous. I'd suggest this kind of viewers to switch to other channel asit might suits them better.

Clare might not be the best dancer, she has her limitation but I respect her and think she and Brendan has add true value to this programme.

Besides, her foxtrot, tango and American Smooth is as good as others so I don't see why she shouldn't be in the final.

However, I do stick by what I say in that it was not directed at any other couple - they all get on far too well for that - and judging by Len's attitude towards her and Brendan on Saturday I can well imagine it was directed towards him. I don't know, but I would be willing to take a bet on it..”

I have to say I agree - I thought that it was directed at Len too. Don't forget that not only did he give them a low mark, he also said that they were the couple he thought should leave and then said but on the up side the couple he says that about always stays - so I thought it was something to do with that.

I wonder where is that come from? Based on consistent low marks from the judges and survive for 7 weeks? For sure she'd need to have more public support than most of the couple to survive that long.

She is one of the few that just gets on with it. SHe doesn't complain shes clearly trying hard. Give me that anyday rather than Emma and Mark who are always saying they can't do it in the filmed bit before and then miraculously pull it together on the night every week. Give me a break.

Don't you think that the BBC pick out the "moaning" bits just so that they can show how wonderful the dancers and celebrities are on the day?

Im not sure if she will win but she deserves more respect than she is currently getting for her total determination not to let her disability interfere with her life!

Yeah she deserves a lot more respect it defintly isn't easy for her... She always seems so friendly and looks like a good laugh... The sitution she's in sometimes sucks the friendlness out of people but she seems to be getting on and not letting her disability stop her...

Hope you picked up on the group training piece where Nicole picked out Claire for special mention. Nicole Cutler was very taken with her determination and professionalism and certainly gave her respect.

Something that confused me on ITT last night, in relation to Claire ~ Michael Ball said she was unable to do the backward leaning bits in the tango very well due to her arthritis ~ so what about that back-bend in their first week rumba, how come she was able to manage that one. It was pretty bendy!

Probably managed that - then realised it was a no-no!

Happens to all of us with arthritis problems - sometimes you don't realise you can't do something until you try it and reap the consequences.....

Claire is improving the most. I think a few of you in this thread are completely out of order making remarks about her appearance what the f**k has that got to do with the way she dances or weather she should stay in the competition or not?
I would love to see Claire win or even carol just somebody who didnt start off a fabulous dancer. It was great to see Emma in the bottom two as we got to see some real worry from her rather than the usual phony 'Oh I dont think im through' look that she gives.

Mark didn't start off as a fabulous dancer! He just has a natural way about him.

Not getting at Claire in any way, although I do believe she is probably the weakest dancer left, but in answer to those who have been saying she never mentions her arthritis etc. you may like to know that she did a whole page interview in yesterday's Daily Express devoted solely to her illness, how painful it was, how difficult it was for her to dance etc. I do sympathise with anyone suffereing form this disease, as I have a friend who suffers, but I have to say I lost some respect for her as she seems to be going for a sympathy vote, and I wish she had not done this.

Not a very popular thought but I've no doubt the timing will build on the support she obviously received before it was generally known. We know that support is there because they were not in the bottom-two after the viewers vote.

however they made allowances with jimmy, and gloria based on age!

she kept quiet about her arthritis for some time. but i for one am glad she is now being open about it....must be frustrating to here len talking about how she wasnt sharp enough in her tango or bent back enough..now maybe he knows why!
Dancingles
22-11-2006
Yes, but if she wants allowance made for that, it is not fair on the others is it? She knew she had this problem when she went into the show, and should not look (albeit unintentionally) as if she is looking for sympathy and compensatory marks. I did have more respect for her when she was not mentioning the handicap.

Im just hoping that beacuse claire wasnt in the bottom 2 this week people will still vote for her this week and not just think that shes safe anyway!
xcarlax
22-11-2006
i don't think people should have to keep quiet about their handicaps/disabilities in fear of special treatment...they are nothing to be ashamed about.

Nothing to be ashamed about at all. But you did say, carla, that Len now knows why she didnt bend her back etc. Are you suggesting he shouldn't now be able to criticise her posture, or should make allowances or what??
