november newsletter

Well the Nov newsletter got delivered today!

Rubbish, Rubbish and Rubbish!

As always BBC rubbish on C1 except Sex in City (which I dont watch anyway)!

The only development I can see is that if you press the Yellow button it saves to Your TV! That is not new and been around since I joined HC!

Same old 35 digital channels! Same as Freeview.

I though with the Tiscali merger there would be an announcment in Nov and that it would be worth sticking around for. I was clearly wrong!

My free 4mths runs out on Dec 18th! There is no reason why I would be staying! Same old HC!

I will give my 30days notice on Nov 18th.

Ok, you don't like BBC. Your problem, I can't stand ITV myself. The reason BBC is on replay is because the beeb allow it.

Eurosport, CNN, Discovery, to name a few are not available on Freeview and are subscription only. Still I agree that HDTV would be nice, it looks like Tiscali are more interested in getting their other customers accessing the service.

How did you get 4 free months? I completed my 12 month contract last month and I'm thinking of jumping ship to NTL when their TV drive is released in my area. If I can stop paying a subscription while I wait, that'd be good!!

ha ha. basically they only offered it in order to hold on to customers whilst they were being sold to tiscali. now they've got tiscali's dollar they don't care - they didn't even attempt to tempt me to stay. or ask me why i was leaving.

Yeah, called up said how do I cancel and they said "please dont we love you as a cust we'll give you 4 free months on Max pack at Max speed!" They stated new changes coming end of year!

I've seen nothing its the same old rubbish! But 4mths free was nice. Oh well bye bye HC!

You're not seriously expecting them to come up with one or more exciting improvements every month, are you? This is an unrealistic expectation.

I agree with you there is no reason to stay with HC, though. The availability of reasonably-priced PVRs for Freeview makes HC's main point, the replay and VOD feature, kind-of obsolete.

Have made that switch myself a while ago and have never regretted it. I like BBC, though. A lot.

Just *some* improvements would be exciting. But there are never any... are there?

I guess you're right. New features were indeed limited to another crap channel now and then, and new forms of pixellation.

Their package price ain't bad, but otherwise...?

Why are you still with HC?

I have been with Homechoice for 18 months I think it offers good value for money for triple play.Ok it doesnt have Sky One or Bravo or Living but there is always someting to watch. The broadband package and anytime calls offer good value for money...if they sort out HD I will stay...

I'd love to stay with HC (although it would be nice if they could get Bravo and Living), but ultimately I think the way forward is to have a multi-tuner PVR and that's just not going to happen with HC.....

"For now"? Do you honestly think they'll ever sort it out? I doubt it very much considering market conditions...
Peter We

Lets see... they have been taken over, sold/selling off all their peripheral businesses and cutting staff just so they can concentrate on the UK and Italy. I think something will happen in the near future.

What 'market conditions'?

I'd imagine he means the ever increasing competition in the UK market.

Exactly. cf multiple reports this week about the quality of customer support crashing drastically as competition has increased - ie margins being squeezed makes innovation difficult, etc, etc...
