Guys

I must warn you all of the terrible, terrible service Samsung customer relations give.
I bought a LE40R74 LCD in August from PRC direct.
In September a fault developed that the tv would not respond to the remote control. If I switch the tv off at the socket for a minute, the tv would work OK for 2 mins and then stop again.
The shop would not replace the tv because it was more than 2 months old.
After ringing Samsung up (takes anywhere from 15mins-30mins to talk to someone. They never ring back if you leave you're number) they got a local company to repair.
The tv was away 21 days and then I was told the parts would not be available until Nov 19th.
I was fuming, the tv was away ages and all we had was a portable.
I have rang Samsung at least 15 times and all I get told each and every time is, 'someone will ring you tomorrw'.
So, tv is still here not fixed and Samsung are not interested.

The tv's look nice but your stuck if a fault develops. Take heed.

And don't try emailing them.

I needed a list of stockist for a usb lead for a MP3 player of theirs. They emailed back a couple of links to companies that didn't stock them. I emailed them back to point it out and they sent the same links again!

A 3rd email was sent telling them how crap they were and they replied suggesting I tried Maplins!

No joy there either.

Surely this goes past samsungs 28 days from when the fault is first reported..!! next time you speak to someone tell them that you have no further option but to proceded to take samsung to court for failure to up hold they own warrenty..! watch them suddenly start to move! sort of worked for me..!!

I had a similar issue and threatened them using the Sale of Goods Act, low and behold the telly was repaired and ready to be returned 2 days later (despite Samsung customer services saying the actual part required would be in stock until 3 days after the telly was ready to be returned? - work that on out).
Shame really we're really happy with it, but atleast everything is OK now.

the names Samsung and LG together with customer services is a total oxymoron

regardless of the dubious quality of their plasma's the customer services issues should be enough to deter any potential buyers considering purchases from either of these companies

You are so right....Never deal with manufacturer..create hell at the supplier. It's their responsibility....

I've had fun with my 32" Slimfit TV they have still got it at the repair centre and they say it needs a new tube. Well the tube wont be in till the 26th Nov. I first reported the fault on the 16th Oct

Just drove to Chertsey today after work to hand deliver a letter to the MD. Lets see what happens.
