All Saints' new come back album 'Studio 1' is currently 'knocking around'. I have 'obtained' it (don't ask where from! ) and given it a listen. Here is the track listing:

Rock Steady
Chick Fit
On And On
Scar
Not Eazy
Hell No
One Me And U
Headlock
Too Nasty
In It To Win It
Flashback
Fundamental
Quite a few tracks have a sort of sub reggae/ska/dub/UK garage/pop edge and feel (eg. Rock Steady, Scar, Not Eazy) with Too Nasty having a jazz sound combined with the other styles listed. The beats on the other tracks are funky enough (Chick Fit, Hell No, One Me and U) and kept my interest. The vocals aren't outstanding but I wasn't expecting much anyway. I'm not an All Saints fan but think the album is OK overall after listening to it fully.

The MP3 album says it is an advance release so the final release may well be different. The official release date is 13th November, 2006.

Their album sounds more like a Shaznay album. Most of it is her work.

Studio 1 is probably their best album yet. Every track is good except One Me And U, which i don't like much. Chick Fit is the next single to be released, which is a great choice i think.

Really? It's been panned by mansized Click here and ceefax.

I'm going to have to check this out...

Yeah, that’s right it’s called “Dubstep” and it’s a sub-genre of 2-Step Garage with darker bass and ragga/reggae vibe going on. You can tell by who worked on the album why they’ve ended up in this direction.

With more Funky House and R&G (Rhythm and Grime) filtering into the mainstream and from what I’ve been hearing UK Garage is slowly remerging from the underground again – maybe All Saints have chosen the right sound for 2007.

So thank you Grime for making us realise what we’ve all been missing – a good old UKG Rave (and not a shoot-out)!!

The London Evening Standard reviewed it yesterday giving it one star out of five saying it was dreadful and one of the worst albums he has heard in many years.

Ouch!

I'm really surprised at the critics view of the album, I picked it up yesterday and think its really good. It walks all over the Sugababes/Girls Aloud's last albums. Don't believe everything you read!

Looks like the old All Saints fanbase have grown older and moved on. I suspected it would happen to a girlband in todays music climate.

Heard it in full a few times and it is REALLY BAD!! Was playing Lucie Silvas album inbetween, and the sheer brilliance of Lucies album just highlighted how bad All Saints one is, however Rock Steady is great, but will fade very quickly. Buy Lucie over All Saints is my advice.

How can you compare the two? They are totally different music styles. I can't see her album doing much better in the charts, where did the single get to?

I wouldn't compare Lucie to All Saints, and Lucie's has been delayed until March 2007 since the rubbish lead single (yes, lets all be honest it was pants for a lead off an album) failed to make the top 100!!

In fact, Lucie's isn't a patch on her first. No epic big ballads or anything. Its very folky and simply floats along. Nice and all...but I'm really let down by it.

It's not going to help if the media decide to slate their album.

What I don't understand is that the media don't appear to have it on for acts like 'Girls Aloud' and 'Sugababes' despite them producing really tame, bland stuff.

i think the album is good! i hate reading bad reviews about albums i like!

anyway, sure, they've not matched tunes like 'black coffee' 'never ever' or 'pure shores', but there are some good songs on this album!

my favourites: Fundamental, Rock Steady, On and On, One Me and U, In it to Win it

it's good to have them back, i say!

I've listened to their album very carefully and it's very good!

There is an element of each girls solo work in here (mostly Open by Shaznay Lewis). Shaznay did most of the songwriting on this album (hence the reason why these songs are brilliant! )

I'm very shocked and surprised to see the album at 41.

Not a good start but I'm sure things could pick up if they release 'Chick Fit' or 'Not Eazy' (Not Eazy could do with a tune-up!)

How embarrassing for All Saints considering the recent war of words.

Well I don't think they are gonna give up just yet and face embarrasment. I think they should just get their act together because it's not gonna be doing them any favours.

Their album is friggin amazing. And this is coming from someone who was never an All Saints fan!

Sugababes are very good and both are very commercial.I haven't heard All Saints new stuff but their solo stuff wasn't commercial and flopped as did the sisters album.

I bought it today, fanbloodytastic! I've heard the whole thing several times but I have to say after the first listen, I already knew I liked it...in a way, it's so refresing to hear them again and also, it feels like they never went away!

According to release schedule's "On & On" is the next single...good choice and if the album is "failing" then this should boast it...it's a very good album, they just need more promotion.

On a side note...I'm glad Andy is doing well..love him too, lol...BUT C'MON GIRLS!
