Seriously need to get into music better. They were hardly top notch. Just because of 'girl power' . Yukkkk is what springs to mind when hearing their 'music '. Almost gives me a migraine hearing them

Girl Power? Male song writers, Male producers, Male manager- sacked replaced by another male manager, boss of record company - Male.....Girl Power indeed, a sales pitch thought up by a male to be sold to the gullible female teenybop market.

Well it's all very pro-Spices in here i see...
If they are his/her fave band of all time, then that should be respected...I demand a reunion too! A lot of other random reunions seem to be happening (Take That, All Saints, East 17, Five, Atomic Kitten...) We Demand The Spices!

They would have to come back with a completely different, mature image. They tried that once before and it didn't really work terribly well. Also, would Geri come back? They were a little bit bland without her. For all her faults, Geri did add some character to the group and will always be remembered for her iconic union jack mini dress and platform boots!

The Spice Girls really were sh*te.
Girls Aloud are just as bad.

Do yourself a favour and explore other acts/genres.

Rubbish. The vast majority were written Richard Stannard and Mark Rowe, or Andy Watkins and Kim Wilson.

The Girls co-credit on the songs is purely a contractual thing - common these days so that the performers also get a split of the royalties.

I doubt very much whether any of them, except maybe Mel C, know what a semi-quaver is, let alone writing a tune....

Why do you think you never see instances with such bands where the performers are the *sole* credited writer on any song?

^ Because they can't play an instrument, which is usually quite important when writing a song.

I still firmly believe that the Spice Girls made their own healthy contributions to their own songs.

Whoever wrote them, it doesn't matter, I think the Spice Girls made some bloody brilliant pop songs.

How dare the OP choose what music he/she likes!

Get a mind of your own and do what everyone else tells you...

Every tune-smith worth their salt can play an instrument. Have you ever watched somebody compose - you constantly switch between manuscript paper and keyboard (or whatever), trying the notes/chords/changes/tempo out. You don't simply sit there and "think" the tune!

I'd love to sit Victoria Beckham down with a blank sheet of score paper and see her write a tune! FFS...

I think that they are wise not to reform, they need to leave it longer for the nostalgia value and they're not recent enough for pop credibility. They've been overtaken by the likes of Georgie Carter, Girls Aloud etc.

The Girls DID write the majority of their songs = FACT

Read the book 'How the Spice Girls re invented Pop fame' by jounalist David Sinclair it has quotes from the co writers of the songs that state the girls had HUGE influence is the writing, one quote says Geri in particular was well into the writing and she wrote Stop, Viva Forever & The Lady is a Vamp almost by herself. Mel B was the brains behind Mama.

Get the facts before you go mouthing off.

Somebody who actually knows what they are talking about! The girls had maybe a song idea and a co-credit but thats it

Maybe the girls will do a one off performance but I don't think they will record another album.

I accept they may have had a hand in the lyrics, yes (although I think there was probably a lot of help there too...). But the tune is what sells records. You can sing the Lord's prayer, backwards, in double-dutch if you've got a decent tune.

But writing a few lyrics does not give the one the right to go around saying "I wrote this song" or for people to claim that on your behalf.

Was there one Spice Girls song written by just them, without any co-writers?

I'm sure everyone loved them.. but I don't think they should reunite.. it would probably ruin what we remember of them.
