Is this phone worth its £299 price tag? I heared it is like the Rolex of the mobile phone world. Although upon closer inspection it seems to be running the same software as the Nokia 3210. Is this correct? I was looking for a phone that would work all around the world, and this seemed to fit the bill. Should i treat myself to this, or should I buy a nokia 3310 for this country, and a Motorola P7809 for use on a global scale?

The 8890 being banded as a world phone is a con, it is dual band and if you're travelling to anywhere else in the world but the US, then get the 8850. The Euro/Asian frequencies are more widespread so you're better off getting the 8850. And it does not have the daft antenna on it either; the 8890 has a little pull-up antenna which ruins it for me.
The + point of having the 8850 over the old 8810 is the dual band and the battery life is better on the new model (and the build quality and software). I'm happy with my 8850, I had an 8810 before which was nice but a little flakey. Hope this helps. Lee |

My Brother has an 8890 and he all praises for the phone (little bit too small for my liking though!!)
