Mobile phone charge
Hi,
When you get a new mobile it says give the mobile a charge of something like 16 hours. Is this really worth it?How does it help the battery? I have had a few new mobiles and all say this, but most of these end up being fully charged after a few hours, should you keep on charge still after this? Murray |

For the first charge, give it a full 24 hour charge, you can't overcharge batteries these days. The phone will say the battery is charged but it'll be trickle charging.
Ideally, for the first 3 charges, charge the battery overnight and don't recharge it until the battery is run down, the phone turns itself off. After that, you should be OK. If you use Li-ion or Li-polymer batteries and you're gonna store them (ie not use the phone or spare battery) make sure they have a bit of charge in them, don't store them completely dead otherwise you could knacker them!
