Last night settled down to watch episode 1 of torchwood.
pressed play - and saw "hard disk error" - then hummy rebooted. from then on i have had no hard disk - can't record - playback etc.

tried the usual - standby - switch off at mains - reset to factory default - no use.

has anyone had this and found a way to recover?

I have arranged for humax to pick up early next weel.

it could be as simple as a loose cable or as bad as a failed disk, to fix the first open it up and push every cable into it's socket, the second option requires a new drive.

I would leave it to humax and fingers crossed it will be OK.

You could try reformatting it from within the menu, if you can get to it?

Have you got a Record icon in the menu?

To answer the questions, I do not have a recordings option on the menu - nor am i able to reformat - its like the disk isnt there.

Try leaving it on for a few hours, then do a power off / on recycle on the rear switch. If it comes back, leave it on the whole time, it's working for me, touch wood... When I have watched everything, I'll try the plugs inside. If they are in tight, it has to go back.
