replacing the +44

My friend sent me a txt from her boyfriends mobile and said store the number just in case. so i saved it and changed the +44 to 07 is this right cause by doing this it gives me a 12 digit number 077929------

No you'd change the +44 to a 0. But why would you want to? International format is preferred in this day and age.

i always store numbers in the 07xxxxxxxxx format just a habit i have gotten used to

there are 3 formats: 0044, +44 or the 0**********

Yes, for calls from and to mobiles in the United Kingdom. The 00 prefix is the international prefix for calls originating in the UK (and a number of other countries - including most of Europe.) and as most people know the country code for the UK is 44. However, using 0044xxxx... from UK landlines won't work, neither will it work from countries which have international access codes other than 00 eg USA which us 011 and Belarus which uses 810
