Hi all.

As a Hummy 9200 owner since last Christmas I regularly visit these forums. There's always some sort of interesting chat going on. I'm very pleased with my Hummy in its .08/4.09 clothes, so much so in fact that I'm about to buy another one. Considering this I came across what seems to be the ideal solution, the Humax LP32TDR1. This is a well specified 32" LCD with a 160Gb PVR inside.
My questions are ...
Has anyone found out any details about this hybrid ?
Maybe someone has bought one ?
Is there, in fact, a 9200 inside that can be updated via serial link from a PC ?
It would be desirable to keep it up to date as easily as the separate unit. Having one remote for TV and PVR functions is attractive. Perhaps it would be better to buy a Hummy and LCD separately.
Any comments appreciated.

Looks good. The spec on Humaxdigital.com shows an RS232C (serial port) so hopefully it can be upgraded via PC. Even if not, presumably it will get updated via OTA.
It also has 2 Scarts, HDMI, S-video and component inputs. It even looks like you can record from external sources.
One thing that does appear to be missing is the USB port, so it may lack the facility to transfer recordings to PC.

No... it doesn't have a 9200T inside.

I hope it's a better PVR than in their first integrated effort - the LGB32TPVR.

The unit in that seems to be Linux based, and very very slow; for example, when you go into the recorded programmes list, you can see the screen being drawn, a rectangle at a time. And deleting a programme can take 20-30 seconds.

So, I'd definitely want to play with one of their new ones to make sure it's based on something like the 9200, rather than the far less functional and very slow PVR in the first generation set.

Thanks all for the guidance. I hadn't realised the Humax site went into as much detail.
I think in retrospect it would be better to buy separates. The 9200 Hummy at least is a known quantity and still receiving regular updates.
