Hi all, I'm a bit clueless when it comes to all this, so apologies if I'm missing something really obvious. Today I got a new contract with 3, along with a fancy new k800i However, when I try to use the internet on it, I keep getting a "connection settings not valid" message. I had a look at the internet settings and there are two profiles in there, both of which appear to be "locked". Will these be unlocked in time once 3 activate my account or something? (I assume it has been activated already though, as I can make calls with the phone).

Any help is greatly appreciated! Mobile internet was one of the reasons I went for this new conract, so I hope I'm actually able to use it

I wouldn't bother going near the connection settings because first you have to choose an add-on to allow you full web access.

Either "Add Casual Web Sites" for No monthly fee and £2 per Mb

"Add Internet 10" which is £2.50 per month for 10Mb of Access or

"Add Internet 30" which is £5 per month for 30Mb of Access

Just go to "My 3" through 3 Services and choose to 'Buy Add-on".

Let us know how you get on!

Right, I've added the casual websites one - let's see how long it takes to appear

It does say it can take up to a few hours to activate the internet add-ons. Give it 2 or so hours, turn your handset on and check your account in My 3 to see if it's activated.

However, if you're going to use it more often than not, I would've suggested the £2.50 add-on. Check your 1st Bill when it comes in.

Yeah, I'll see how much I actually use it - not realy sure at the moment, but as long as I ca change the add-ons later then it's fine

Thanks for the help!

More problems - I keep getting a "service is blocked" message each time I try and use the net

Any ideas?

1) Have you turned the handset off for two minutes since requesting the add-on?

2) Is the add-on DEFINATELY activated? (Check in 'My 3')

3) If it is, you haven't actually gone nuts with data usage and ran up a huge bill forcing 3 to lock you out?

If none of this answers your questions, give them a call on 333.
