I'm changing after 5years from 02 (through the CarPhoneWarehouse) to Orange direct?

Good choice? The tarrif seems good value and their customer service opens longer than crappy CPWH.

Sound alright?

Overall, I'd say yes - depending on what tariff you've got, as some of the animals are pretty good these days, particularly from direct (e.g. unlimited free text, unlimited off peak orange world bundles, unlimited landline calls) while the others... not so much.

to get the best out of a network it is alot better to actually go onto an 18month contract, alot of people may say they upgrade every 12 months but if you actualyl look i used to upgrade normally around 18 months after the contract because there was never a handset i wanted.
