Question about 9200T

Hi, I'll try and explain this as well as I can.

Connected at the moment I I have.

From

TV(AV1) RGB ----> DVD (Sony)RGB

DVD (Sony)RGB ----> SKY BOX(Panasonic) RGB

SKY BOX(Panasonic)RGB ----> SONY VHS

What I want to do is replace the VHS with a Humax 9200T. When I turn on my Video recorder it takes over AV1 and displays the pictures over the SKY BOX (which is fine) becuase there is a button on the video remote (TV\VIDEO) which when pressed cuts out the signal from the video and displays SKY again, but its still on and records what I want.

What I need to know is, I will be doing a staight swap with the video player with the humax, As I watch sky mainly I only want to record things using the Humax not really watch the freeview, but is there a button on the humax like (TV\VIDEO) that will let me carry on watching SKY while the humax is reording integrated freeview.

I have it setup this way so everything runs RGB

Many Thanks

There is a source button on the Humax, people have used this to control passthrough (for example a DVD player, via the Humax to the TV) with varying success. I don't know if it will have the effect you want.

I hope you don't mind me pointing this out but your swap suggests to me you might want to use the Humax to record SKY, it can't actually do this, it can only record freeview channels not external sources.

Yep, the source button is the one the OP is looking for. I use it in exactly the way he describes, albeit with different kit.

I have my Xbox 360 plugged into the pass through SCART socket, and I can happily play on the Xbox while the Humax is recording.

Since my TV only has one RGB SCART socket, this is the best setup for me.

Hi Guys

Thats the answer im looking for

I wasnt going to use it for sky, but I didnt know you could not do it. just internal only then?

Is that the case with all PVR's

My only other choice was to go for a

Sony RDRHXD860 dvd recorder with HDD but I didnt really want to replace my DVD player.

unless you go for something like the Sony you mention. It's worth having a look at the Sony PVR form, I think there are a lot of bad reviews regarding the operation of the latest Sony machines. I have a HX510 and it's great but it doesn't have a freeview tuner or EPG function.
