Fresh, along with Virgin run over T-Mobile.

Top up by debit or credit card then. Put £30 on your phone to last you a month and your sorted so its just like pay monthly. Only difference is your putting money straight onto your phone instead of paying a bill each month.

£30 would last me more than a month, more than a few months, why should they earn interest on my money, when I could be earning it myself.

The Virgin way of doing it is perfect.

With Virgin if I make no calls that month, my bill is £0.00, if I make a one minute call in that month then my bill is £0.15.

Yes there are many months when I don't make calls, as a mobile phone is really only a last resort method of contact, not one of these people who waste silly money on the things, saw the error of my way soon after my company wouldn't pay the bill and Virgin came along.

Sounds like Virgin PAYG is the one to go for. I too much prefer to have the money taken by DD as I never remember to top up my phone and it's particularly useful if I go abroad occasionally.

Yes because I work from home and only leave the house for an hour a week on a Thursday night - popping to the shops isn't an option!

But my worry is that one time I will go out somewhere eg for a Christmas do and I'm on the train home on my own late at night and need to ring my husband only to find I'm out of credit because I didn't remember to go to a shop the week before and ask for £5 credit. A mobile for me is an emergency phone really and I want that phone to be usuable at whatever time I suddenly need to use it without having to forsee an urgent situation a week in advance!

The benefit of EasyMobile was that whenever my balance got down to £2 it would automatically take £10 out of my bank and top it up for me. I'm gonna miss them for that!

What are you on about?? They don't earn interest the money just stays on your account until you use it on pay as you go

What you on about. Where do you think that money is stored? Yes in their bank accounts, of course it's earning them interest!

Tried phoning Fresh to see if they did DD and if one could use it abroad. Firstly I couldn't stand the voice of the person on the automated response, and secondly they asked for my mobile number - which wouldn't have done them any good as I don't have a Fresh Mobile. So I gave up and went with Virgin who were incredibly helpful and told me I could order a Sim card online as I already have a phone. So I have my PAC number from Easymobile and am just waiting for the Sim card to arrive in the post.

I think Fresh do use T-Mobile, as it happens.

Been looking and can't seem to find anything, but I'm relatively sure that pretty much all of the MVNO's use T-Mob!!!!!!!!!

I care, because it is costs me extra, extra in the fact I don't earn interest on the money when it's in their bank.

Virgin by DD is the simple solution, don't have to worry about top-ups so if I don't use my phone for a few months then I pay no money, and have no money in their bank account earning money, it stays in my bank account earning me money.

I don't have to worry about running out of credit half way through a call.

What's the minimum top-up on Fresh? Is it £5?

Bloody pain though.”

If you can get a signal with T-Mobile you can get 2 free sim cards from their web site and choose a PAYG plan one of which is only 3p a text message. Maybe that would be okay for your kids?

If you're all looking for a new provider then I made a spreadsheet with prices and notes on many of the providers. It's not the neatest spreadsheet but has the main info and I think it's all pretty accurate.

Let me know what you think.

I would have attached it here but the option is turned off.

They had the most confusing billing system ever... Not sure if they still do or not!

Good Riddance Easymobile; the Prepay service that could actually damage your credit rating if you didn't use it after set up.
