I want to connect my Toshiba DVD player to my Loewe Planus TV using the RGB outputs on the back of the DVD player as I have never witnessed the benefits of RGB over composite. They are currently connected just by SCART.
DVD outputs are:
SCART
3 RGB phono connectors
S-Video
and various audio outs.

TV inputs are:
3 SCART sockets, AV2 and AV3 are RGB enabled.
on the front there is composite video in and S-Video (don't want to use this as it would be ugly having cables hanging out the front all the time)

How do I connect the RGB out's from the DVD to a SCART on the TV.
Sound is not a problem as I'll run that straight to my seperate AMP.

A fully wired SCART leads already carries an RGB signal. AFAIK anyway.

Having some problems with the Scart socket on the DVD player. The plug keeps coming loose and I get dodgy sound. So I would quite like to try out the dedicated RGB out's on the DVD.

Ohhh you mean component out's? One seperate cable per colour (R/G/B). As I recall all Toshibas have Component Outs. AFAIK they produce the highest image quality, because each colour is carried in a seperate cable. Normally projectors and plasma/LCD TVs have component inputs.

Not sure if you can get Component to SCART converters though, have a look in the classifieds section of a DVD hardware mag, they normally have that sort of kit advertised if such a device exists.

EDIT: I saw some SCART -> Component leads at http://www.hificables.co.uk/acatalog/SCART_to_BNC_.html but I don't know whether they'd work the other way round Not cheap either, like £50 not cheap.

With a standard TV a fully wired scart lead will do the job, if it keep fulling out look at differemt makes some of the flat wired ones have different balence and may suit.

The component out only makes sence when you have component in, it will allow progressive scan which especially for PJs and plasmas where you have a far bigger screne will give better results
