Beyond the 8 day EPG

A bit of a noddy question I suppose but I haven't experimented yet.

As we are taking a 10 day holiday soon I assume it ought to be possible to manually set programmes to record that are > 8 days ahead. Am I correct in my assumption?

Yes this is possible. If you have things that are on more than once (at the same time slot) you can use weekly or daily record settings (select in the epg and modify/edit) and you can manually programe any time or date you want. There might be limits how far down the date list you can scroll, I've never checked, but I am sure you can go as far as you need.

The Radio Times web site is useful for looking up to two weeks ahead to find any one off programs you may be interested in.

Thanks for the replies. As we are leaving on the Saturday morning and coming back the following Sunday we ought to be ok. But just in case we can't use the guide for the Sunday, we need to be able to record the usual Sunday night delights such as Coronation Street, Heartbeat, Planet Earth and Midsomer Murders etc.

My Mrs also wants to record that celebrity jungle trash as well.

If you've set them all up for the first Sunday you're not there, just make it a weekly timer and it'll pick up the following Sunday automatically. That assumes the programs are broadcast at the same time the following week, but Planet Earth should be OK. This also means you only need one timer slot per program and will save you loads for the celebrity jungle stuff.

Celebrities?! Were there supposed to be 'celebrities' in that show last night?!!

I saw something in a jungle on ITV1. It must have been the wrong channel!

I bet you made good use of the skip back button when Myleen Klass was in the shower

I knew there was a use for reality TV, pity I missed it.

You know, come to think of it, she was fairly easy on the eye now you mention it!

A heady mixture of stunning beauty, brains and some considerable musical talent. Why the hell is she on this nonsense?

£100,000 is why she is on it - can't say I blame her.
