Together option 2 offers free evening and weekend landline calls witch seems good for anyone that dont have BT Broadband and makes loads of evening and weekend calls but I dont see anyone thats on BT Broadband going with BT together option 2 for Broadband talk offers the same for no real extra cost apo=art from the broadband cost. Im on Together option 1 and been offerd option 2 free for a year but dont see the ponit in it as i get the same with Broadband Talk not real extra cost. I pay line rental £11 a month. £22.99 option 2 for BT Total that gives me free evening and weekend landline calls on Broadband Talk and im on the friends and family thing.
Anyone else thing the same as me.

Darren

Might as well have the free calls over broadband. Not everyone though has BT Broadband.

Yes, you can get BT together 2 free for 12 months, but you must stay on that service for 18 months, therefore paying for 6 months the extra cost for BT together 2.

Don't you have extra expense for an ATA to use with BT Broadband though?

I'm happy with my VoIPStunt service on my ATA. I don't have a phone line, so that's an £11 / month saving, a saving I have been making for 16+ months (£176+).

BT Broadband Talk basic free evening and weekened landline calls is now part of the BT Broadband Total package price. Yes I still have to pay the £11 a month line rental and for any call though the BT landline wghen I use phone during the day.

What about the ATA or other device required to connect up your standard phones, do you not have to pay for that, or do they issue the equipment for free?

Just interested in what they offer, though I wouldn't go with them myself, simply because I dumped the landline to save money and have a deal on my cable broadband.

I dont have to pay for ATA everything is in the price of the line rental and BT Broadband fee.

And, as you have a BT landline, you could also sign up for Primus Saver Option 2 CPS and get free UK 01/02 evening and weekend calls (up to 90 minutes per call) on the ordinary line too.

And pay a 7p connection charge for calls to mobiles? And that's on top of the 'per minute' charge. Seems very expensive to me.

Which was why I only mentioned Primus Saver Option 2's free UK 01/02 calls.

As you have obviously worked out, Primus should not be used for calls to mobiles or 070, 084, 087 or 09 numbers.

For calls to mobiles, 18185 is cheapest at weekends (4p connection and 2p/minute) but, because they charge 6p/minute at other times, some people take a chance and use 5p/minute 0844 gateway providers. Personally, I don't for the sake of 1p/minute because they start charging halfway through dialling. In any case, a 1280 prefix for such numbers is my procedure to ensure I get charged BT rates.

But you'd only use them for the free calls!

You'd use 18185 for mobiles, though you could if you were stupid use BT for those.

Im happy using Broadband Talk for my free evening and weekend landline calls for up to an hour per call. Yes I know I could maybe get cheaper day time calls with someone other than BT on my landline but is it really worth it. I pay my Broadband though the BT bill and I put £5-£8 every 2 weeks on the BT payment card to go towards my BT bill that I get every 3 months or so.

I'd say putting your daytime calls via 18185 really is definitely worth it.

BT 3p connection plus 3p per minute.

18185 - 4p connection, then ZERO p per minute, yes that is 4p for no matter how long your call is, then there's mobile phones if you call them, 2p/min weekend and 6p/min daytimes with 18185.

Certainly a no-brainer!

Will maybe look into it in January after I get my next BT bill in.

The kind of customer BT loves. Those that don't care how much money they waste with them. Sorry but it's true!

I get free evening and weekend landline calls up to an hour per call though the BT Broadband Talk and have dont since August. So im sort of make a saving there. Im also on the BT friends and family for my landline and that can save me £2 or £3 every 3 months.

18185 min mobile call charges for peak and evenings is now 10p due to the introduction of minute billing.

My wife used that 'save' word when she bought two blouses instead of one because the second was £2 cheaper if she bought two at the same time!

So, in her mind, spending £15 more became a 'saving' of £2!

Remarkable!

Debenhams love my wife.

Yes, that's the min call charge, 4p connection and 6p for the first minute. That wouldn't be a problem to me, as all friends and family are the same believers as me, voicemail is a nasty unwelcome service, only designed to make telecom companies money, so they don't have it switched on, it there is no answer or no reply, we're not charged. Easily made up for if you do chat for more than a few seconds, and cheaper than BT.
