Suggestions? Small mp3 for gym that supports drag'n'drop in Windows Explorer...

I am looking for an small, light mp3 player to use in the gym. My main requirement is that it doesn't use any intermediate software to transfer files... no Sony SonicStage please!

Something which I can drag'n'drop files to from within Windows Explorer would be ideal.

Also, I am usually a bit of a brand snob and pay a little more for Sony or Apple etc... but in this case i'll make an exception as this device won't get looked after too much. Any device of any brand that fits the bill will do and to be honest, the cheaper the better!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any inspired choices...

Thought about the new iPod shuffle? ok, it uses iTunes, but that's a great piece of software!

Cheers for that... I didn't know there is a new iPod shuffle, this one looks miles cooler than the old one. Also looks pretty gym-friendly with its pocket clip design + small size and light weight. Price looks pretty reasonable for 1gb of storage too. No screen... but you get what you pay for i suppose!

Good stuff Telly_Man.

Anyone else got any further suggestions?

I have one of the new shuffle's and it's brilliant for cycling, which is my main use.

So i'd assume it's perfect for the gym.

Looks pretty funky. £80 for the 1gb version on Amazon.

No software interface required ... MP3, WMA.

One website also claimed OGG, not backed up on the manufacturers site ....

Go for the Creative Zen Nano Plus - I have one, it's tiny, supports simple drag-and-drop from Windows, and has a huge capacity for the price.

Thanks for the welcome Telly_Man!

And cheers for your suggestions sancheeez and ~Party Weirdo~. Both of your suggestions have screens, which is a big plus.

They're good competition for the new iPod shuffle, which certainly does look like a cool piece of kit.

I'm going to check out some reviews on the net of these devices. And see what kelkoo can do for me too...

A good thing is that i'm not in a rush to pick up this gadget. However, i do love a new toy and have a history of impulse purchases

Zen Nano Plus is great, and appears like an external drive in Windows Explorer and it has a screen, FM radio and line-in.

If your budget stretches a bit further, check out the Creative Zen V+ . It's flash based so it works for the gym, can be used with windows explorer, and you get video , line-in and FM too:

For anyone interested in the 'final result' i eventually went for a white Creative Zen Nano Plus, mainly for the good price at play.com.

Thus far, i'm loving it. Thanks to you all for your suggestions!
