EPG genre search - useless?

The search by programme name feature is useful, but have been a bit disappointed to find the genre search facility utterly crap because it only brings up 100 results.

Earlier, I was quite merrily searching through the week's worth of films to pick out anything worth scheduling, but only got up to channel no 17 as that was where it hit 100 results. As far as I can see there's no way of viewing the next 100, or modifying the search. I thought it might start from whatever channel is highlighted in the EPG beforehand, but seemingly not.

Am I missing something, or are we just stuck with this?

Channel 17 is UK Gold and for some reason they seem to list all their programmes as films, when clearly they are not. This is not a fault with the Humax, rather UK Gold sending the wrong info.

If you do not subscribe to TopUp TV then delete the channel & all other TUTV channels. When you next do a genre search you will find just about all the films listed, from all the remaining channels.

The search results number is increasing from 100 to 250. In tests this is enough to do a search on all 'movies' with all channels, inc tutv and tutv anytime listings, in the search to get everything item down as 'movie'.

Typically I am finding that a search on all movies when all channels are listed, including all the channels you dont watch and the TUTV/TUTV Anytime ones, movies generate about 200 results or just over. The exceptions will be during the yearly festive period i'd expect. But then again the only reason I havent deleted all the channels I dont watch or don't have (like TCM etc) at the moment is because I am doing some testing. But the results should be encouraging. Its a joy to use, especially with the 50 timers: I am finding even being trigger happy with the results I am not hitting 50 timers.

EDIT: Forgot to say what you can do in the mean time: go to Edit Channels menu and delete all the TUTV channels if you are not a subscriber and TUTV Anytime channels (they too contain movies) and all the other channels you dont watch. The unit does a search on the whole of the EPG where you have channels listed, so doing this has really helped me in the past and something you can do in the mean time if not already

I've binned all the channels we don't watch and find that the 100 results just gets into Film4. Looking forward to getting the 250 limit .. and in the meantime wishing that certain broadcasters didn't call things "Movie" which clearly aren't. UK Gold aren't the only offenders.
