Daewoo DVD/VHS advice
Hi all,
My parents have seen a Daewoo DF8150P DVD/VHS combi which can also record from VHS to DVD in a newspaper advert and have asked muggins here whether to get it or not. Has anyone had one of these or similar? Amazon seem to have a DF8150 (without the p) for sale - does anyone know what difference the P makes? The amazon reviews mention it seems to chew VHS tapes a lot too - anyone know if it does this a lot or whether it's a small batch problem or something? There is also a firmware upgrade on the Daewoo website - is it cause for concern? So many questions, so little extra info my folks have given me... All help appreciated. |

No direct experience of that unit, but the fact that Daewoo seem to sell cheaper stuff, plus the fact that you've already found negative reviews of a product that has the same model number with the exception of one letter, would be enough to put me off. Incidentally, I'd bet that the 'P' on the end has little if any significance.
For a machine with a slightly better pedigree, why not look at the Sony RDRVX420 (around £190) or the Panasonic DMREZ45 which has Freeview, HDMI output on top of everything else (around £260). Have a look HERE for a selection, and more information. |
