WOW! What an amazing line-up!
I swooned for all of those in my youth.
I thought Claudia was a bit *off* with David tonight, obviously he's not her era, so she probably didn't know much about him, so wasn't all gushy like she was with Patrick Swayzee last year. But the ending was so abrupt.
Just, Claudia asked, "Why are you here?"
David: "I don't know."
Claudia, "Thankyou".
All a bit weird, and certainly not funny.
Just to add, David made some very interesting and relevant points about the Dancing, comparing it favourably with the standard in the American show.

I agree, the Osmonds were the best - brilliant.”
I didn't go to that concert but I did attend the Donny Osmond one - absolutely fantastic!
As someone else said, full of women of a certain age. Although I was actually sat next to two teenage girls and during one slow romantic song one turned to the other and said "Corrr isn't he gorgeous!" I felt like saying, hands off, he's mine, he's old enough to be your father.
After tonight's ITT I can safely say that Donny is wearing far better than David.

too right!
sorry to be negative as everyone here seems to love him but to me he came across as if he didn't actually care about SCD that much and as he has only been in england for a few days how can he have watched much? in my opinion he just wasted time which would have been better spent on Claire and Brendan or on training.
I think he might have been there to plug a book. Claudia gave him a chance to plug it at the end with the "Why are you here" line, and he didn't take it.
Oooh, now I'm tempted by that. Have just looked it up - it was released on 13th November.
If it's the original recordings, then I will definitely get it. I bought Then and Now a few years back, but it was a bit disappointing as the tracks were re-recorded. They have to be EXACTLY the same as in the 70s to be really good.

That's the way that it came over for me - he has no record, no stage show and no book to plug.
I don't have anything against David Cassidy and I'm glad for his fans they got an opportunity to see him again, but he was by far the most irrelevant guest on ITT ever. He didn't add anything to the show and I didn't believe for a minute he is a real fan of the show.
I saw the Once In A Lifetime Tour too, and David was by far the weakest link. I think they had quite a few complaints.
I liked all of them in my youth, but David was probably my favourite at the time.
On this tour, I loved The Osmonds (they were FAB in their own tour), enjoyed Mr Essex, bopped along to The Rollers, but David left me cold.
I also saw David C and Donny a few months apart a couple of years ago, and Donny wiped the floor with him, I'm afraid. Last edited by Helbrown : 17-11-2006 at 17:16
David Cassidy seems to be doing the TV rounds at the moment. He's obviously got a few things to promote, so I very much doubt he was there purely for the love of the dancing.

Well, if he had some things to promote, he was very secretive and laid back about it then.

But he did have things to promote
a) His greatest hits album
b) The auction of his effects at the Hard Rock Cafe in London.
I expect he didn't get to promote them because he was asked to comment on SCD - which I don't think he has ever seen; other than a few clips before he went on set. As I've said earlier, his official website tells us he was in Connecticut on Saturday
Having completely thrown him, Claudia wasn't able to control the interview enough to get it back to his self-promotion and offered the lame "why are you here". He looked so confused by the question, it was embarrassing.
I'm a bit young to really know who he is, but I have to say he came across like a bit of a creepy-uncle type, what with the 'wow, that body on a 17 year old' thing he said about Louisa. Just seemed like a bit of an awkward few minutes of telly
Sorry thought David looked awful on ITT and he did not hit it off with Claudia who I think was not impressed with his constant comments about the bodies of the girls!! Even Louisa who is only 17!! UGH. He has had too many face lifts. I wonder why so many American stars go that route when it is so obvious that they cannot move their faces anymore!! How old is David Cassidy anyway now??? Does anyone know out there?. He must be close to 60!! Donny Osmond has aged well and has a great voice and is so professional. On Children In Need I thought David's performance looked a bit off and also when the older woman wanted to pay one hundred pounds for a kiss! God that was awful!!! EKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. He didn't look too thrilled and ended up giving her a hug!! Perhaps these old popstars should leave us with good memories and not constantly come back for tours, books etc!! It is all so depressing!!
