To be honest, I preferred all the outfits from series 2 and
3.Not really liking much from SCD4. Karens purple
paso outfit springs to mind. It was bizarre, reminded me
of the 70's starship troopers.

Well Lilia's dress and hairstyle weren't quite as bad as Zoe's Paso Jumble sale outfit last series, and Lilia's natural beauty means she can look good wearing anything, but I do agree, the BBC costume dept. haven't exactly covered themselves in glory this series.

They almost, but not quite, succeeded in making poor Lilia look like a Munchkin from The Wizard of Oz.

Bless the woman's cotton socks, I'll bet she's too lovely to throw a strop and refuse to wear the monstrosity.

On tonight's ITT she demonstrated clearly what style and chic she has, her hair looked gorgeous, and I loved how her little legs didn't reach the floor when perched on the sofa. Oooh, I LOVE Lilia, sigh!

Just another topic to have a go, one way or another.

To be honest what ever Lilia wears I think she looks stunning, I loved the dress on Sat night was great for an American Smooth, her hair and make up too. She looked stunning as always

I'm not "having a go", I love Lilia, but compare Saturday's dress with the black and white one she wore for the Pro AS demo with Erin & Anton in a quartet, and there's a huge difference in style and chic. To comment on that is merely saying I didn't like a dress or hairstyle, not having a go at Lilia! Judging by Lilia's own style, I'll bet she didn't much like it herself.

Absolutely. I love Lilia and saying you don't like her dress is not criticising her. I think some people are being a bit over sensitive frankly. Because you support a particular dancer or celebrity doesn't mean you have to think everything they say, do or wear is right! If you are able to be objective it makes your views more relevant, whereas if you think everything is always perfect it makes your views less valid. To say this is just another "have a go thread" is very unfair to the OP and quite ridiculous.

I have to agree with the two previous posters. There is a vast difference between "having a go" at someone and attacking them personally or professionally, and simply saying you don't like the dress and makeup they were wearing. In fact there is no correlation at all! I can't see that anyone is having a go at Lilia personally, which I would object to. There is a fine line between defending a dancer and celebrity from unfair attacks and criticism and being over defensive, which can only alienate others. Many of the people who did not like Lilias outfit on Saturday have previously posted in support of her and Darren, and they entitled to have a view on the wardrobe department without being accused of attacking Lilia personally.

Well, the song 'You make me feel so young' was first published in 1946 and I thought Lilia's hair was a wonderful evocation of that era (and gorgeous too!). The dress also had echoes of the 1940s but with a modern twist (much like the dance itself). Perhaps this is the 'theme' Amytiger was referring to?
Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion of whether they _liked_ the style/dress/colour or not however.

I wasn't that keen on Lilia's ensemble on saturday, but for me the worst was Carol's ~ she's a stunning woman, and has looked stunning in everything so far, but on saturday I thought the dress was a bit of a dud ~ the intention behind it was nice, but the skirt material looked like cheap suit lining and it seemed like they'd really skimped on the skirt volume, there wasn't quite enough material in it for it to hang and flow properly. The colour was a bit too wishy washy for my taste too ~ I think Carol looks better in stronger colours and just a slightly stringer blue/green would have made all the difference. All in all a bit 5/10!

Just my opinion, of course...and in agreement with the previous posters, criticising the dress is not the same as having a go at the person inside the dress

It's all been a bit hit and miss with the wardrobe on this series. Lilia's dress was pretty awful - the colour combination didn't work so well.

As far as the make up goes, the girls are experienced in what works for them and what doesn't, so I don't think they would agree to the make up artists doing soemthng they didn't like themselves, or didn't want to try.

I don't think it is. Most people, like me, adore Lilia, but that outfit was, err, different for want of a better word. Personally I like the colour and the movement of the dress, but thought the actual style and hairdo did nothing for her, although she's lucky being so lovely she can get away with just about anything. Would have just like to see the colour (but without the red bits) and material in a different style.

THANK YOU!! Thats what I meant, yes. But it doesn't matter, I don't want to say any more about it But yes, I do completely agree with you and I'm not just saying that because I'm love Lilia, if she wore something I didn't like, I'd say so. Maybe its just because I'm quite young but I liked the bright colours!

I loved Lilia's dress! I think Lilia has the ability to make any dress look stunning. I really liked the red and blue, it was gorgeous. I totally agree with Amytigger, about the theme; it certainly gave the image across.
Your not the only one Nina, I loved it too!

I liked the skirt of her dress - the flow and movement of it... it looked like it might be silk. The colour combinations and the hair I hated, though.
