Favourite DWTS routines?
quackaquacka
16-11-2006
There's been a bit of talk about DWTS lately, so I thought it might be fun to find out what everyone's favourite routines were

Mine are: -

John and Charlotte's freestyle from the dance-off
John and Charlotte's quickstep from week 2

Drew and Cheryl's paso doble
Stacy and Tony's jive
Stacy and Tony's samba from week 5
Drew and Cheryl's freestyle

Mario and Karina's freestyle
Jerry and Kym's samba
Emmitt and Cheryl's freestyle
Emmitt and Cheryl's cha cha from week 1

And of the professional dances, my favourites are: -

Cheryl and Louis' samba
Louis and Karina's samba
Cheryl and Maksim's rumba
Charlotte and Nick's foxtrot
Ashly and Louis' jive
Alec and Edyta's cha cha

Sorry to sound like an ignoramus, but has this been shown on TV over here? If so, I have totally missed it!

No, it hasn't - I wish it would be, though, it's brilliant. But all the dances from all the seasons are available here.

Oh, cheers quacka! I will definately check them out - my friend from Texas is a MAD Emmitt fan!

I'm surprised we don't get it - we get just about every other American programme known to man!

Don't forget to click on the 'Results Show' section! From the s1 dance off onwards, the professional dances have been put up as well And some of the elimination videos are hilarious.

I'm a bit surprised it's not shown, even if it was just an American Idol type deal where they show both episodes on a Friday or something. Mind you, I'm also a bit surprised that the first three seasons of SCD had no repeats whatsoever

We get the American Apprentice, why can't we get this, I'd love to watch it, even if I haven't the foggiest who some of the celebs are - it's the whole dance thing, I'll get into the person the more weeks I watch them.

*Sulks at the BBC*

I don't know who half the celebs taking part in the British version are! (I do now, but didn't before the show.) And it wouldn't have to be on BBC 1 or 2 - AI is on ITV3, so it could be on BBC3 or 4!

Ah well, that's the BBC for you

Brilliant topic. A shame that more people don't watch the clips on Raphael's site.

I will end up here all night if I list the dances I enjoyed from DWTS, so I'll throw out a few observations ...

John and Charlotte's Foxtrot - That was the first time that I ever watched a ballroom routine that really wowed me. It looked so sophisticated and graceful.

John and Charlotte's Freestyle (Final) - It was just insane watching him lift Charlotte up and move in and out of ballroom hold, into some jive steps. The song was perfectly picked and it just looked so much fun!

Drew and Cheryl's Paso - Man, I loved it when they did the zombie walk in the middle of the routine and the whole Michael Jackson homage turned a questionable musical choice into a real dance thriller.

Drew and Cheryl's Freestyle - If it were a film, I'd call it Breakneck mountain. Full of energy, raunchy and hugely entertaining.

Stacy and Tony's Samba - Sassy and sexy, I haven't seen hips and legs move quite like that in so many series of DWTS and SCD!

Emmitt and Cheryl's Mambo - The guy loves grooving along and it's just great to see him inject the dance with his personality. He and Cheryl play off each other so well that it made it look so free and vibrant.

Mario and Karina's Paso - I loved their Paso. The El Mariachi theme was pulled off with aplomb and Mario showed off why he was arguably the best dancer in the competition. In fact, I pretty much enjoyed most of Mario's work in the show.

I could go on more, but then I'll never get any sleep again ...

I just chose my favourites at that moment...there's so many that it was hard to choose only a few. I completely agree with everything you've picked there.

John and Charlotte's foxtrot is so classy and entertaining, I just love it. Their freestyle from the final is amazing, and I watched it over and over again when I first saw it. It's just a brilliant piece.

Emmitt and Cheryl's mambo, I think you're spot on there - they play off one another and that's what makes them so great to watch, because it looks so natural. And Mario and Karina's paso gets better every time I watch it - fantastic.
