Loving it!

You should get Coming Up the album it's from, I think you'd like it if you like that song - I agree it is great.

ah! that would certainly explain it then!!!
I am 28!
I adored Suede, even met them too.
You should check out Dog Man Star. Definitely the best Suede album.
Lots of listening for you!

While the music press were only interested in bloody Oasis or Blur they seemed to forget the daddies of the whole scene - Suede.

Even their B sides were fantastic. High Rising is one of their best songs and it was tucked away as an extra.

Their greatest hits DVD is also worth a mention especially the video commentary, at one point there's nobody in front of the camera as they're embarrassed by their video so they've all walked out of the room.

Definitley buy 'Coming Up' - an absolute classic of an album. The song 'By The Sea' is an amazing song and always gives me a lump in my throat when listening!

Oh god is it...beautiful song.

Get Sci Fi Lullabys - Suede's Bsides, extra tracks etc - brilliant - I love Killing Of a Flash Boy on that too.

I only got into Suede about a year ago, and they are absolutely fantastic.

Definatley one of the bands from the 90's I'd like to bring back along with Faith No More, Terrorvision and boyband North And South.

Saw them live a few times - post Bernard Butler. Brett was quite evidently loaded but quite a frontman. I also think Dog Man Star is their best. Still Life can still send shivers

I've seen them three times I think..my favourites on DMS are 'Heroine' and 'New Generation' but the whole album is just a work of excellence.

Suede were woefully passed-over in favour of all the blokey Britpop of the 90s. But they are still one of my favourite bands of all time.

Favourite tracks for me are She's Not Dead, High Rising, Pantomime Horse, Sleeping Pills, Daddy's Speeding, Saturday Night, We Are The Pigs, Stay Together, She's In Fashion, Killing Of A Flash Boy.....

Too many to mention......

Superb band, saw them live in 1994 in Derby, and then saw their very last gig in London, Dec 03.

'This Time' from Sci Fi Lullabies is my fave Suede track of all time.

The only album that never really did it for me was Head Music - some good tunes but a bit patchy - Suedes 'This is Hardcore' i.e post drug addiction (except Pulp's post druggie recordings were corking!)

The OP should also check out The Tears LP from 2004.

I absolutely adore SUEDE. "The Wild Ones" is probably my favourite track - just stunning. Lots of fantastic b-sides also, "Killing of a flash boy" is a fantastic song. I know it didn't go down very well at the time but I think the "A New Morning" album is very underrated.

Yes, they now go under the band name of The Tears.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, they released an album last year, and very good it was too IMO.

I love Suede too.

Did anyone know that Blur's 'Charmless Man' was written about Brett?

Probably a bit of friction as they both went out with Justine from Elastica.

Have you read the official Suede biography? Man, do Albarn and Brett Anderson hate each other! LOL at Brett calling Blur 'Chas & Dave'!

Elastica's 'Never There' was about Brett, too.......well, I suspect half of Elastica's songs were, come to think of it.........

I saw Justine boucing around on stage with Anderson and Suede once and stood in the crowd waiting for Damon to come on and start a fight and smash guitars up or something - never happened though!

I loved Suede but never went a bundle on The Tears album. It was too m/o/r for my liking and a bit too Radio 2.
