Just watched them on UK Music Hall of Fame, and they were absolutely class. One of the best bands of all time!

Pretty much. At least they used to be amusing back then when they were doing Living On A Prayer before Jon Bon Jovi started fancying himself as a cowboy version of Springsteen.

Now they're a bunch of balding decrepit old men squeezing themselves into stonewashed denim and expensive but hideous brown leather jackets and playing a dull middle of the road continuation of poodle rock.

Used to like them, but they got very poor very quickly after Keep The Faith. Dull is pretty much a spot on description of them since 93.

Balding? They've got more hair than most....Led Zep included!

The way they treat their bass player is appalling, how many albums do you have to play on before you get your picture on the cover.

they may not be groundbreaking...but they are fantastic live.

i saw them in manchester for the first time this summer, and they played for 2hrs40mins, with Jon bon Jovi only taking one break (whilst Ritchie Sambora sang) which is very hard to do.

wasnt a fan of the slowed down version of livin on a prayer they did last night though, but "its my life" saved the set IMO

They sacked their original bass player Alec John Such after the 'Keep The Faith' album.

They agreed with the new bass player that he would play with them but would never be a part of Bon Jovi as he didn't have the history with them as they did with each other.

He agreed to it.

Funny that they lost it when he left!

If this statement referred to Led Zeppelin, I'd whole-heartedly agree with you.

Bon Jovi don't even come close IMO.

Why is it that some people can't see music past the 1970's? I hate 70's music so have no interest in them whatsoever. People need to realise we are now in 2006 and shouldn't compare every band to the so called "greats" of days gone by.

I thought he was an alcy or druggie, they got rid of him because he wasn't very good. It's all a little odd, anyhow he plays on the records I assume, keep the faith was the last of their albums I felt compelled to buy, you can't get more part of the band than that. Always thought it was pretty petty of them considering how long he's been there now.

the bassist obviously isnt bothered that he isnt on the pictures though, otherwise he'd have told them to 'eff off' a long time ago.

so i dont see how it matters whether hes an official member of the band or not.

"Bon Jovi - awsome"

Three words I would never have expected to see in the same statement.

I have to agree with other posters on this thread, poodle headed rockers well past their sell by date.
Although to be honest I never liked them before their sell by date either.

Saw them briefly on T4 today. One of them has the worst permed hair I've seen in a long long time

Think thats a bit rich seeing as Bon Jovi are completely stuck in the 1980s.

Explain how you came to that conclusion? Their sound has changed a heck of a lot since the 80's. Not many bands can continually sell out stadiums 20 odd years after they started.
