OK - so I agree with most of the above.

I want to love Carol & Matt but the chemistry just isn't quite there. Tomorrow is probably their last chance saloon.

I do love Mark & Karen but I can see why viewers aren't 'getting it'.

Sorry to some of the above - I loved Darren Gough last year from day one because I thought he had the potential to improve.

Darren (pro), I just can't warm to him dancing him with anyone but Lillia (yet) - he coached Jill very well but I never saw that personal spark. As winner of 2004, he got the prize of Gloria - nuff said. With Emma, I just still don't see it - that's not to say that they can't win, I just won't be voting for them.

Even if we accept that Vincent spends of his time on Vt tongue in cheek, then his and Louisa's relationship still doesn't seem so alive - and she can't keep up with his choreography.

So it seems I slagged almost everyone off - who's left - Peter & Erin who will get through tomorrow because it's ballroom, Brendan & Claire and then Lillia & Matt who are improving exponentially.

Before the series, my money would have been on Matt & Lilia but the first couple of weeks saw me downhearted - wish now I had had the courage of my convictions!

For me it would be:

Darren Gough and Lilia
James and Camilla
Martin and Erin

I used to think Jill and Darren were an uninspiring partnership but that was until I saw Emma and Darren. Bland! I think he actually had more chemistry with Gloria than Emma LOL

I'll agree with those that have said Darren G and Lilia were nothing compared to Aled and Lilia so I never took to that partnership.

Mark and Karen
Jan and Anton
Jaye and Andrew
Sarah and Brendan

I agree ~ I liked Lilia & Darren G, loved Lilia with Aled, but just not feeling the lilia & matt thing. Even so, I'm prepared to admit that he has come on leaps & bounds in the last two weeks and his ballroom is now very acceptable. But still dreading the rumba, samba, jive ~ arrrgghh!!!

Others that bore/bored: Emma & Darren, Colin & Erin (he was a great dancer, but compared to Erin & Julian, & Erin & Peter ~ )

Claire Sweeny who was in Brookside and her partner. Boring.
Also, Darren and Gloria.

This year for me it's Darren and Emma. Started off SO excited that Darren, whom I love, was goign to be with someone who could from the outset clearly dance but alas despite them obviously liking each other well enough, there is NO spark whatsoever, no sense of a shared journey. Plus I can't recall one piece of humour or fun in any of their training footage. They are the epitome of boring for me.

Actually when I think about it, there are just some professionals who never seem to have that spark with their dancer. Both Lilia and Karen could have it with *anybody*, absolutely anybody. I can't think of anyone else who could have gelled so well with Bill as Karen did. Camilla and Erin too seem to always be on good terms, although they never have the entertainment factor to go with it. With the male dancers, Ian for one never has that special relationship with anybody he's danced with and to some extent Darren too (despite him and Jill being wonderful together, if you re-watch their trainign footage it was *all* abut the dancing). Now with Brendan you always get an extreme, which is really entertaining and certainly sparky and Anton is just a charmer with everybody but has never had a true dancing parternship to see if that translates.

It's all down to sense of humour I think. Lilia has it spot on - be competitive, exacting, demand a lot but have a hell of a lot of laughs along the way. She and Aled used to make me giggle uncontrolably. Ian, alas, is just too competitive to ever let go. Saw it particularly last year with Zoe. I fear that he'll ever be a winner unless the audience can see the softer side to him as well. Similarly, if Darren and Emma can just bond, on a level, have some laughs, it would do their dancing the world of good.

couldn't agree more, loved lillia with Aled and Darren with Jill (more Jill than Darren) but didn't like either of their partnerships last year and this year both emma and Matt irritate me....

Can I add Jimmy and Flavia.
It just seemed ... wrong.
I did feel for Flavia though, she must have known that really she wasn't going to be there long (as I put elsewhere he was breathing like a broken winded horse after the waltz).

Emma and Darren seem very - dunno - sanitised somehow - like an Action Man doll with just blurry 'bits'.

Well said, loved Aled and Lilila their training left me snickering, any kind of connection is great in a partnership; be it banter (all good natured of course) and having fun, because that always helps in the dancing and translates across the screen making it a joy to watch.

Completely agree - but I still loved Lilia.

Partnerships I found/find boring - Emma+Darren, Gloria+Darren, Ray+Camilla, Erin+Colin, Georgina+James

Yes I agree with you. There is something missing between Emma and Darren that was definitely there when he danced with Jill. Perhaps it is because she, Emma I mean, is a big star and can be difficult? I think Jill gave as good as she got in their few clashes they had and a good bond developed. I love seeing Darren dance with his wife, she is absolutely gorgeous and a lovely person.
