1958 was a magical year for music, 3 legends were born.
On June the 7th the child Prince Roger Nelson was born
August the 16th saw Madonna Louise Ciccone come in to the world and
On August 29th Michael Joseph Jackson was born
All three have in there time has had some sort controversy, but were truly amazing in there hay day.
I done some research on these "artists" and i was truly shocked at my final thoughts.
I feel out of the three the most underrated one and far superior one is Prince.
They called Jackson and Madonna the King and Queen of Pop. Now both of these have lost there paths in the past decade. Madonna brings out music that is very dance music oriented and gyrates like 20 yr old (i would be embarrassed if that was my nearly 50yr old mother, sorry Lordes. Im not ageist btw) and Jackson with his little (big) appearances esp this world music awards fiasco makes me wonder if he is not tarnishing his memory.
Now Prince in the 90's had an argument with Warner Bros about his contract as they wanted him to produce more albums in relation to quality. So he done his little one man protest with slave written on his cheek (well he was) and changing his name to get out of the contract, made the tabloids go mad turning it into a freak show. I grew up seeing this and this is what made me not like Prince.
Now looking at music talent we have
Madonna - writes some not a lot of her songs - singer - dancer
Jackson - writes some of his songs- singer - dancer
Prince - writes 99% of his songs (a few covers have popped up) - Has written for other musicians - Plays all instruments on his albums ex wind instruments - singer - guitarist live - drummer live - keyboard live - dancer - no lypsyncing! all live!
Prince is a workaholic two failed marriages due to him constantly in the studio writing and making tracks (the 37 albums he has made doesn't scratch the surface of the music he has in his 'vault').
He wants to bring music back saying real music by real musicians
Watching his exceptance speech at uk hall of fame he was shy nervous not comfortable speaking only performing.
Don't worship false idols
