Jan turning the tide?

I think Jan is coming over better and better with each day. Yes, she can moan for Britain, but there's comedy value in her singing, I'm loving her flirting, and she actually does have a personality and sense of humour. In contrast, have we seen Matt, for example, actually do anything??? Go Jan!

You can say that again ...

When it comes down to what they've done for the audience, then yes maybe Jan has had more screentime than Matt.

But if you look at what they've done for the camp, as in work wise, Matt's done a hell of a lot more. Jan just seems to be sitting somewhere criticising what the others who are working for the group are doing.

Our perceptions depend on whatever angle the producers take on editing the footage. They are certainly focusing on Jan as there is a little drama around her and she's being strange and entertaining. I'm sure they could have focused on something Matt did that was entertaining in the last day if they wanted to. There is only so much airtime though.

Yep.
She's paddling upstream after tonight's all singing performance.

She is 65 years old though, she is not going to have a strong voice at that age, especially as she does no voice practice.

I expect the tide may turn more in Jan's favour if she is perceived as being bullied or having the pee taken out of her. She has a certain vulnerability that, if threatened, might make her seem worth protecting.

I agree with all the above!!

If we had a proper LIVE FEED that didn't have so many sound dips then we could see how the dynamics in the camp really are. At the moment we are being 'fed' stuff

So - ITV - where is your loyalty to the viewers who vote?? Without us you would not be able to do a show like this!! WE NEED A LIVE FEED!!

I have seen no sign whatsoever of a sense of humour.

I don't understand why everyone is suddenly saying Jan's lovely ,she's a whiney late middle aged lady who is acting like a 16 year old and everyone is applauding her instead of telling her to act her age,all she adds to my veiwing pleasure is a chance to make a cup of coffee while they focus on her,but that cat she has shoved down her larynx followed me into the kitchen

i think she is only turning another tide over herself ..due to the absolutely ever so girlie flirting with toby ..who doesn't know what to do and is trying to be polite to the 'old' lady

the jaw dropping striptease. .... oh my goodness..what was all that about?????

the moaning ...then when phina told her about that .."oh i didn't have a clue i was moaning" probably because that's how she is all the time
and THAT singing ....AWFUL AWFUL...somebody said she hasn't practised for a while ...well that was obvious so all the more reason for keeping her mouth closed
david was very er polite in his critique of her voice ...he looked horrified too!

she has done no favours to older women ...in this she could do with taking lessons from faith ...very natural ...doesn't come across as luvvie and has more talent in her little finger than jan

ok rant over

I find it surprising that people are now saying that Jan has now metamorphosed into a charming entertaining person. Everytime she comes onto my screen she seems to be moaning about something. I'm sorry but I really dislike the woman and totally agree with previous posters who have observed her to be a passive aggressive.

I don't find her remotely entertaining.

Jan is self-obsessed with no sense of humour whatsoever. She seems to take herself way too seriously.

Her singing last night was enough to kill anybody off. Awful.

I think it was a big mistake for her to appear on this programme. Prior to this, the image that most of us had of Jan Leeming was that of a beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent woman of the world. She should have left us with that image. The lasting image we are going to be left with after this is that of a sad, embarrassing, undignified, deluded old woman.

NO! it doesn't.
she will have been a 'grumpy' teenager, middle aged and now old grumpy woman

we don't change as we get older in that department

that's very unfair on older people lot's of whom are lovely

I'm not so sure. In my experience, grumpy young women (or men) become grumpy old women (or men).

Edit: Oops, beaten to the draw by sixtieschick.

I agree. It's abysmal. We don't really know what is happening. That repeated hour on ITV play is ridiculous? Why are they doing that?

As for Jan, yes, I agree with lulu but I think, from what we see, she needs to stay at the moment. Perhaps she will redeem herself, as David Dickinson kind of did, after a shaky start.
