Onscreen info during playback

I have a recently acquired a Humax PVR 9200T. About a week ago I tried to get both channel 35 (Five US) and channel 36 (Five Life), I initially got the required programme, but only for about 2 seconds, after which, Five US changed to an invitation to join Top Up TV, while Five Life changed to a game show on a channel not Five Life. By using the Menu, I managed, more by luck than anything, to stumble upon a list of all the channels (including the Pay TV channels) with the option to delete any unwanted channels. I reasoned that if I deleted all the Pay TV stations, they could not then continue popping up every time I tried to get channel 35 or 36, and this seems to have worked, however, only since then, it seems, whenever I play back a programme I have recorded, I get this message - "The channel is scrambled or not available" appear on the screen. This can happen two or three times during a film of normal length. Does anyone know how to cure this.

I don't know why the annoying "scrambled or not available" message crops up occasionally. It's nothing to do with your deleting the Top Up TV channels. Does it happen more on recordings of particular channels? It might be because reception was poor at the time.

Try a 'default settings'. This will clear all old channel data and automatically re-tune. It should sort it...

It will also clear any set timer recordings and favourites (which will have to be re-entered) but all recordings will be safe.

I did what lancer suggested, selected the default settings, and it seems to have worked. Many thanks sir.

You generally only get that message if you try to tune into a pay channel which you don't subscribe too, or if the channel isn't broadcasting. If you've left the channel list exactly as the default download you'll have loads of these channels available. Unless of course you've subscribed to TUTV and forgotten to pay the fees

If, though, you mean you're getting it when on playback like the original post then you should try the same as suggested and reset the box to the default settings.

I have tried a complete default re-set but i still get the message on replay of some recordings

This could be because the signal quality dipped during recording which is why it thought the channel was not available. Some channels seem more prone to this than others during bad weather - it's usually Five or the various versions of Channel 4 that seem to do this on my set.
