Len always undermines what Arlene sayes. While sometimes I agree with him, and I cringe when she goes on about how some of the dance partners make her horny, I don't really get where he is coming from. He always makes her look like a fool.

Not particularly gentlemanly.

I agree. Arlene has points to make, and should be allowed to make them. All these interruptions, and comments about specsavers and Sermons on the Mount just show what a dreadful Head Judge he has become. What's happened to him?

Agreed. I am sonetimes embarrassed for her -she never cuts him or anyone else off so he should just let her have her turn!

I thought Arlene had a lot of good points to make last night and should have been given the same chance to do so by Len as she gives him.
She has settled down since Brendan's outburst and left out her embarrassing remarks about Mark. I presume she watched herself on tape or was told to tone it down. Whatever the reason, she has been professional and fair since then - along with Craig. I'm afraid I can't always say the same about Len!

I'd agree with that, she was making fair and reasonable points and didn't deserve Len's snide little comments.

It's something I've noticed about Len since last year when I started watching SCD. Lat year he used to cut her off mid-tirade to give support to celebs she was slating. Now he cuts her off just to repeat the point she has already made. Very strange behaviour

Despite what is said about him on here, the man ISN'T that well thought of on the circuit. He's one of those judges, if you can't get anyone else Oh well, let's get Goodman he's always available.
He can't believe his luck landing this little earner and has got too big for his boots. He's believing his PR. I loathe Arlene, but she has more talent and street cred in her little finger than Len Goodman and he knows it!

Interesting point you raise there. Not that I know for sure but I'm beginning to suspect he may be one of Brucie's golf buddies and probably got the job over a relaxing game of golf

Have to agree that Len sounds and scores in an increasingly unfair manner, and with Bruno also highly scoring his clear favourites BOTH of them should go before the next SCD. Feel both Arlene and Craig much fairer even when the criticism seems harsh. Len's behaviour towards Arlene is appalling for a 'Head Judge'.

I thought Len was being light hearted there certainly seemed no venom; Arlene is not shy and retiring and certainly has no fear in arguing back if she isn't happy

I am seeing an increasing trend of her being talked over. she might need to pull out a loud hailer to match brucie's whistle next time.

And Len, learn to be polite.

Len's been getting on my nerves somewhat in this series.

Inconsistent scoring, snide remarks - to both fellow judges and dancers....trying to make a name for himself or what?!

Only Arlene and Craig give the more honest scores.

Maybe Len's finally realised where his missing paddles (i.e. those numbered 1-5) have gone - Arlene's half inched them to use in her boudoir...

DerChef says

"Sermon on the Mount"

VERY rude but VERY funny

its true that he often doesnt let her finish, and his remarks about her giving a sermon when she was just giving valid points was very harsh yesterday! but then again they all do it to each other to some degree

I'm not Arlene's biggest fan by a long stretch, but I agree that Len is out of line. Wasn't his whole point during the Brendan outburst that all of the judges notice different things and have different areas of expertise? I thought he was arguing in favour of the judges having slightly differing opinions.

And if he is going to keep on undermining her, shouldn't he come up with some new insults? He's already used "sermon on the mount" and "specsavers".

Well to be fair he did the sermon on the mount insult about Bruno last time, if I recall. Either way, I wish he'd rein it in a bit.

I agree.
I'm no fan of Arlene but she was absolutely right about the controlled tango of Claire & Brendan.I thought it was very good indeed.
I was amazed at Len's reaction.

I think you're right about him believeing his own PR and I think NONE of the judges can believe their luck.Unknown to household names in a very short time...with so little talent.

He has become a bit of a prat this series.... maybe its his stint on DWTS?

He's a grumpy old sexist man He seems to think he's younger than Arlene (he can't be can he?) but then Arlene is about 10 years older than I thought she was.

Arlene's 62 and Len's supposedly in his late fifties - its just that Arlene doesn't look her age!

Len is never in his late 50's

I think he and Bruno are being so childish about Brendan to say they should have gone yesterday was ridiculous. I was so glad when Claire stuck her tongue out at the judges when their name was called out.

While I'm sure Arlene has been blessed with good genes. I highly suspect that she has had "work" done

I thought Len is at least 10 years older than Arlene. Arlene's look doesn't look like there's any work done. You can tell easily if one has any work done, those plastic face you can't get it wrong, eg. Anne Robinson's paralysed face. Arlene's face looks fully functional and natural.
