'... before you say something we all agree with'

Did I imagine Bruce saying to Brendan at the end of the judges comments something like:

'You'd better go, Brendan before you say something we all agree with.'

I was sure he was going to say '..before you say something you'll regret' and was all set to become indignant.

Sounds to me like implied criticism of the unfairness Brendan and Claire suffered last night and possibly of past unfairnesses, ie the goading of Brendan.

No he did say that, don't know if he saying that just being Bruce or was more loaded.

Would be interesting to have a chat with Bruce see what he really thinks!

When I heard that I immediately thought it was a dig at the judges from Bruce!

I thought it was a complete dig at Bruno and Len, have no idea what they were watching last night, but I though Brendan and Claire pulled off a really good tango.

I thought it was one of the most entertaining moments of the night.

I agree it came across to me as a dig at the judges. Well done Brucie!

Don't you know that; "a preposition is something you should never end a sentence with?"

I also thought Bruce was having a "pop" at the judges.

I do, Bruce doesn't.

..and yes, I do realise that I also misplaced the comma. Spent too long dickering around with the syntax.

Oh, I think Bruce knew what he was saying very well--not the grammar particularly, but the content he was au fait with. It's not all badly read cheesy jokes with him, y'know.

Err..
It was just a joke, you can "dicker" as much as you like, "they can't do you for it."

Don't worry, I didn't take you for Conan the Grammarian.

I realised that you meant it lightly.

I was annoyed with myself for missing the comma.

Me too and I had just thought how wonderfully controlled and tight it was when the judges slated it- not Arlene though.
Good old bruce- he's at his best off script

So they did. Brendan & Claire's tango was excellent. Their routine included plenty of genuine ballroom tango steps and all danced in time to authentic tango music. If the shy and sensitive Len Goodman didn't recognise this then his brain must be addled from too much jet-lag! On this occasion Craig had it absolutely right.

Definately said that, it was funny.
Bruce is occasionally funny when he isn't using an autocue.

But the autocue is stupid.

The autocue stuff just makes me cringe, however Brucie's off the cuff stuff is sometimes very good, and he did handle micgate extremely well.

Brucie needs to sack his makeup artiste though, he/she is making him look like he has been made up for an episode of Six Feet Under.

Mark Ramprakash's makeup looked dodgy as well when they were talking to the celebs in the results show - made him look 20 years older!

I liked this comment - I did wonder whether it meant that secretly Bruce agrees with the idea about unfair favouritism this year.

True, some of the mens' make-up reminds me of the embalming work they do at the local undertakers.

I'm hoping Bruce agrees with Brendan, I mean Matt Cutler certainly has, as have the majority of the pros.

Agree, some of the scripted jokes are painful and make him look like a silly old man desperately trying to get a laugh. Agreed with his comment about Brendan and was delighted he had the guts to say it He has gone up in my estimation old Brucie!! Well done. Looking forward to ITT with Claudia tonight - God I have to get a life!!!
