hi my problem is i bought a phone its a nokia n 90 from a car boot he put a new sim in it and showed me it working but after 2 days it wont make or recieve calls it still shows the operator logo but if you try to ring anyone it says connection error do i take it ive been ripped off

Sounds like it. It was probably a contract phone and now he's sold it he's reported it lost/stolen to get a new one for free. Hope you didn't pay too much for it!

I think you should contact the sim company and tell them what has happened, and ask for the phone to be made usable again. Tell them when you bought it and who you phoned. If the seller has reported it stolen, but sold it on instead, there may be a chance that he will be brought to book, as your telephone history will demonstrate that it was sold to you before it was reported stolen.

It sounds like its been blacklisted.

In order to get it working again your network will probably require proof of purchase.
