Yet again this idiot has been caught on suspicion of possesion of crack cocaine. Apparently he and two other occupants of a car seen driving erraticaly, by Doherty, were arrested after police, who had stopped them, found a substance in the vehicle. Doherty has again been given bail.

Is it not about time that he was locked up?

I couldn't care less about his private life. I'm more offended by his shit music. May be we could lock him up and not let him out until he writes a decent song which actually justifies the interest in him?

No it's about time this waste of space was executed. He is a terrible role model. Youngsters will start to think they can get away with using drugs (several times) and get away with it.
He has been caught so many times now, yet they reduse to lock this moron up. Hell if it was a member of the public they would have been banged up first time. But no Precious Pete Doherty and his squeeze kate Moss are invicible and can do what they want, it is disgusting.

He wants to die and no doubt he'll eventually have his way. He's probably waiting until his suicide pact with Kate Moss is signed and sealed and then they'll go together.

I hope he gets better. Anyone who 'hopes' he dies is a complete idiot. He's a human after all and one of us. I don't disagree that he shouldn't go to prison because yes he is a terrible role model and he is doing bad things, but i hope he can overcome his addictions.

And i think he can still pull it back and continue making poetic music (minus the drugs obviously)

The making of shit music?

Seriously, I'm with delgado, his cover of The Clash was just so bad I nearly cried.
Poor Mr Strummer will be spinning.

I think Pete should be given an OBE for his contribution to British society

I've listened, but witness I did not.

Each to their own and all that but of the songs were so bad I couldn't bear to listen all the way through.

What a joker- this is class::: (from La Belle Et le Bete)

I'll tell you a story but you won't listen
It's about a nightmare steeped in tradition
It's the story of a coked-up pansy
Who spent his nights in a flights of fancy

Met two fellas over gin and mixers
They talked for a while he soon got the picture
One was a souped up Soho mincer
The other was a pikey with a knowledge for scriptures

Then the conversation turned evil
Talked, talked and talked about people
Why did you do it to so many people?

Really? You couldn't listen to one single song from "Up the Bracket" all the way through.
Well each to her own indeed. In my humble, that album is superb. The self titled second album whilst not matching (for me ) the likes of "Death on the Stairs", "The Good Old Days", "I Get Along", et al, was still an excellent album.
Plus those of us, who loved The Libertines from way back and had access to all the downloads of demos and unreleased songs, that they used to post on t'internet; had songs like " Breck Road Lover", "Smashing", You're My Waterloo",etc to enjoy. I think these show what a great band The Libertines were and that Pete D, along with Carl Barāt wrote some wonderful songs.

Pete's aucoustic version of " Music When the Lights Go On" on that interview with Kirsty Wark was great ( I thought so anyway, seems most people disagree..heyho).

Also I just don't get the blind hatred. How can people relish, revel and wish for the death of a young person

Nah, sorry, I couldn't stand any of it.

I don't want him to die. I can't stand the over-use of the word "hate" and "evil" either but I would like to see him locked up for a long time.

I do love the film from which your username comes though.

Oh, that's a shame. " Death on the Stairs" and "Breck Road Lover" are two of my favourite songs ever. Oh well at least you've bothered to listen to the music and made an informed decision, unlike many who I think probably only know about Pete D from what they read in the tabs, have never heard a note of his music and denounce him as the son of satan/ spawn of the devil/ the anti-christ etc

And yes 'Get Carter', class film, remake of said film with Sly Stallone....I did not like at all. Wish Hollywood would keep it's star spangled mitts off the likes of 'Get Carter', 'Wicker Man' etc.

Don't forget The Italian Job!
No way did that classic ever need to be remade, let alone so badly.

God!! I forgot about that one. That was a sin. And unlike the heinous Get Carter remake the Italian Job actually has a few decent actors, in it ( well Charlize Theron is ok but Edward Norton was great in Fight Club and Donald Sutherland used to be a class act).

And not content with butchering British Classics, I've had the misfortune to see some dire Hollywood remakes of European films. Awful remake of Wim Wendere's 'Wings of Desire' with Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan...nuff said.
La Cage Aux Folles , with Robin Williams..too bad for words. There was a brilliant Dutch horror/ thriller called "Spoorloss" ( The Vanishing) remade into a dull crass film starring Keifer Sutherland and so it goes on.

BTW out of interest and to be nosey what bands and musicians do you like. ?

Ace! I think Mick Jones production is quite artistic and like some of the rawness his production delivers. If he hadn't produced it though, with his Clash credentials, i don't know whether i would have thought this. He leaves bits in other producers would take out, even some bad bits, i guess that's the purple haze..

I don't think all of Down in Albion is badly produced I always skip through pentonville and up in the morning though I still have a hankering to see him back with Carl Barat though

For his contribution to the British pharmaceutical industry or even for improving Anglo-Colombian trade links
