How many times has Mel C been on SCD/ITT?
Hepzibah
19-11-2006
I suppose it can't be that many, but it feels like it! Her sugary niceness smacks of insincerity to me, and it's really irritating. She never seemed that false when she was famous. I daresay she is only there to support a friend, and I'm being very unfair, but it does come over, to me, as a needy drive to rejuvenate her career, she seems to haunt these programmes like a spectre! I suppose she'll be a contestant next series *shudder*.

No doubt this will turn into another Emma bashing thread so I'll get in early. LOL !

Yes she has been on rather too often but I think:

a.) It's a bit of a 'thing' to have a Spice Girl on the show and the aim is to raise it's profile as much as possible. Link goes right back to Posh and Becks, the most famous people in the country afterall. They may not be that successful/famous anymore, but compared to DJ Spoony who no one had heard of (in my experience anyway) it's a contribution they'd want to promote and you can't blame the Beeb for that.

b.) Last year I lost count of the number of times we saw Darren's kids on the show. Maybe not interviewed like Mel C but in VT and camera shots it was far, far more.

So yes, I think we need to see a bit more from maybe the famous friends of others on there (a few 'Enders cast mates, some Ruby guys etc.) but maybe we will as the numbers dwindle and it's more apparant who will be there at the end.

Well I agree with every bit of what you say apart from "most famous people in the country" which I'd have to qualified "to a certain demographic".

Far too many times.

I was suprised that Emma came near the bottom two.

I was just pleased that her over-confident remark that Emma's not going anywhere nearly came back to bite her!

It is particularly irritating that she's been on Claudia's programme twice and we had to suffer her mime to one of her old "unsold tracks."
Also the constant references to "Old Spice" as if it were only yesterday they were popular.

But this didn't irritated me half as much as the cameras alighting on that silly grin of Anneka Rice in the audience last week, I hoped we'd got shot of her for good.

Mel C is definitely hedging for a place in next year's series.

It really annoys me when the camera pans round the audience, showing that the crowd is full of c-list celebrities grinning inanely. The famous faces take up all the seats!

And she appeared in the Sunday 'highlights' show. They could have cut her contribution out and had a few more judges comments, or Anton and Erin dancing to Michael Bolton.

The only reason she keeps popping up is to remind people
about her records.Free publicity.
'I'm here to support my girl'. What a load of tosh.
Get lost Mel C with your horrible grating accent.

Far too many.

I feel sorry for Emma as I am not sure it's her idea. Emmas only error (I feel) is in not ensuring she has enough time to put into training.

To supply a short answer to your question, twice:

Once on ITT, where she was part of the panel & performed a song, on the same show;

Once on SCD, i.e. last Saturday.

I can't say I've any particular interest in her.
I do think that she probably rehearsed "her lines" for Saturday night. A very sickly sounding performance.

What I think is sad for her now she's older, where other young women of her age are wearing "strappy" dresses, she's always "covered up."
I think she's beginning to regret having had all those naff awful tatoos.

She has been on twice. The first time to push Ms Bunton's CD and the second time to... err... push Ms Bunton's CD and also her own, (sold as twin packs in Pound Shops, "I'm reliably informed.")
Don't think she'll be back. CIN is dead and buried.
