strictly on tour

The professional dancers should put on a Strictly Come Dancing tour of live shows around the UK.
The BBC should capitalise on the popularity of the dancers - Darren and Lilia, Anton and Erin, Ian and Camilla, Brendan and Karen, Vincent and Flavia etc etc would put on a breathtaking show that would knock spots off tired old X factor tours.
I think it would be huge - they could even include the odd guest celebrity spot - who would you pay to see?

I totally agree! A tour would be a great idea, and I could go and see it with my Gran, who would be so delighted. I don't know what the logistics of it would be - like how busy Darren and Lilia and the other professionals that still compete are for the rest of the year, but if it could be arranged it would be wonderful!

Pro dancers, and celebs, from the US show are going on tour commencing Dec 19.

This from "Variety":

"Dancing With the Stars" will go on tour to 38 cities with teams of stars and professional dancers from the first three seasons of the ABC hit. Tour, produced by BBC Worldwide, AEG and Front Line Management Group, will mambo its way from San Diego on Dec. 19 to Atlantic City, N.J., on Feb. 11.

I'd definitely go, though I don't think they'd come to Belfast.

I'd certainly pay to see them - if they can do it in the US, I don't see why they can't do it over here. It would certainly give us something to look forward to once this year's series is over (not looking forward to the dark days of January one little bit!)

They were gonna do something like this in the West End but then it got shelved and Anton and Erin choreographed the Strictly Ballroom Dancing that has been touring round the country.

Absolutely, one of the obvious marketing suggestions the BBC should have realised ages ago along with DVD and soundtrack releases. Not to mention Du Beke keyrings, talking biscuit barrels and novelty slippers. *g*

You've got professional dancers, you've got 9 million viewers - a tour is obvious. You could even incoporate workshops with the professionals into it as well to really go all out. They could end the tour at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and even televise it or at least produce a DVD of it.

So much potential really.
