Mp3 Jukebox
I'm looking into getting an mp3 jukebox.
I was thinking of getting one of those Archos Jukebox Multimedia devices. Does anyone have one who could recommend it or warn me off? Can anyone recommend any other MP3 jukeboxes? Thanks, Finbar |

my wife and I both have Archos 20gb recorders - excellent pieces of kit - cant recommend them enough.
make sure you have a USB2 port on your pc however. Transferring gigs of MP3s via USB1 is a bit of a pain... |

I personally like Creative MP3 jukeboxes, the Jukebox 3 and the Zen are both excellent products. The former has Firewire and USB 1.1 and the latter is either available in that configuration or with just a USB 2 port.
You get them both in 20Gb and 40Gb versions. I personally like the Creative feautres like EAX and dual line outs etc. But no video playback, like that new Archos one. Good support too, with regular firmware updates.I'm a Creative fan, if you didn't guess... Graphics card, sound card, speakers, MP3 jukebox all made by them The only bad product they make are their optical drives, notoriously unreliable.

The Archos Jukeboxs are great, but you need to be a little careful with them. Dont use any other batteries than the rechargeables supplied with them..
My 20gb drive's HD failed, I think because I was abusing it a little.. I gave up on Archos' crap customer service and looked into a few forums and bought a 60gb hard disk and fitted it myself. Im still ripping my entire CD collection two months after I installed the new HD.. So beware. The Archos product is very, very good, but their customer service is simply rubbish. Dan |
