You can fake it - remember Camilla and James Martin! I know I have a bee in my bonnet about that but I was so disappointed it was all play acting to get votes!!

Well, I didn't really mean faking a relatiosnhip, I meant you can't fake genuinally liking or getting on with someone - Brendan and Fiona, Brendan and Sarah, Anton and Patsy. They put on a front, but everyone can tell.

It was just the papers reading more into things than what actually happened. I really don't believe that they both said "let's act as if we're having a romance to get more votes"

The pro-dancers are making efforts to get to know their celebs (and vice versa) so that they really do appear as a couple on performance night, instead of two people who happen to be dancing together. So this involves being with them socially as well as in the training room. The papers are just looking for an angle

Anyone go to social dance nights? I bet you can tell when it is an established couple who are dancing together!

They are sure are. I thought the Sunday People article 'Me and My Twirl ' on Mark and Karen was full of tabloid insinuations.

I seriously doubt Camilla and James purposely sought to 'fake' a relationship. They grew close and it suited SCD to portray them in a romantic manner. That was their 'storyline arc' given to them. Perhaps they could of denied it more but why should they either way.

Hi! I'm a disillusioned XFactor fan and admit I've only in the past three or four weeks discovered the delights of SCD. I had no idea what I'd been missing. It's wonderful. I'm absolutely enthralled by all of it. I rather clumsily came onto a well established thread about Mark and Karen, not intending to be disparaging in anyway, but just to say much the same thing which was I sensed that perhaps whereas it had all been comfortable and well acted, perhaps some sexual tension had crept in during training which explained Mark's awkwardness at the weekend. I just find their relationships fascinating and agree that it must be devillishly hard at times to keep the whole thing "professional." Oh, I'm probably being daft but what's ITT?

I think they did - or should I say I definitely saw James say they were just friends. But I think it was one of those situations where to say anything just made it worse, and when he said 'just friends' people just went huuuumm, he would say that, wouldn't he!?

I was exactly the same until a couple of weeks into this series - and now I'm addicted. I haven't watched the X Factor at all the past couple of weeks, except to see who leaves.

Good for you I'm afraid I'm still struggling to wean off and am attending XF Anonimous I'm trying hard though and it helps to have something new to occupy yourself

Thanks AK. Of course! I think it's on most nights though and with my XF addiction and IMCGMOH - if I'm to remain married I don't think I dare take on another nightly show! Yes Claudia's been pretty successful in her own right. Her mum, Eve Pollard was always a bit wacky/eccentric too! .

There should be sexual tension and yearning in a dance but it should stay in the dance. If two people are single then maybe not...heck...rock on...but where people are in another relationship they should realise that it IS simply due to how dancing and practicing so closely together. They are adults and the pro's should know thath is the case and act like professionals. Unless you are Brendan where it seems his brains in is didgeredoo...oh that would make him Australian...close enough though.
