I've got the older model Panny, and use Pan's own discs for the DVD-RAM; for DVD-R I just but the 'cake' of 25 or 50 from Tesco and they work fine. I must admit, I've never had a failed or refused recording with mine, its been a great machine.

I use Maxell, Imation or Panasonic's own brand of dvd-r's in mine and have had very few rejects. (although mine is the Panny EX75)

No problems with Sony -RW, Panasonic RAM (you'd hope they work!), Philips -R
I think some people have had some problems with Maxell, take a look over the Panasonic sub forum here. Last edited by Orbitalzone : 20-11-2006 at 21:52. |

cheers! I have been using Panasonic recorders almost since they became available and all I can say is that you can never be 100% certain about any DVD-R disc regardless of brand. Most work most of the time but sooner or later you will gat a failed disc... I have two machines and record live only on to RAM which has proven to be 100% reliable I then edit and copy onto a DVD-R.....and only delete the RAM recording when I have got a good copy and a backup copy. If you can;t do this my advice is to avoid at all costs recording on DVD-R discs right up to the edge of the disc as this is where most failures occur....To be on the safe side if in SP mode leave about 5 min or even better 10 min free of recording. Your chance of a failed disc will then in my experience be pretty remote.... PS. I am currently using TDK and Memorex discs on a spindle from Comet.......Thus far no problems but have not been using them for long...... |

![]() It's a discontinued model, I got mine a bout 6 weeks ago from Richer Sounds Brighton. The newer DMRES15 is almost identical except that it does not record RGB (my whole reason for purchasing the ES10) but it does record to DVD+RW which the ES10 can't do and it also now has Firewire |
