I totally agree with that Cat! Matthew sure is AMAZING on the dancefloor,...he's won me over!

Here Here! It's all completely an act! But I absolutely adore him! I think he's wonderful, definitely adds something to the show and he's amazing to watch with Flavia!

Also, I wouldn't say Matt was boring or dull. Perhaps not as exciteable or as outgoing as the others, but he's charming, and sweet, and just so lovely and genuine! We need a gentleman on the show!

It upsets me how few people care about whether Camilla comes back or not!

He certainly does. He's definitely one of the ones I want to see back next year.

Yep those are the core ones that have to come back next year. Next in line would be Matt and Nicole.

I would personally be gutted if SCD didn't have Brendan, Karen, Anton, Erin and Camilla.

I know, I split up a lot of the couples, but I don't always like both partners! Some rather obvious gaps there, too... Fantasy casting, I know it would never work in real life!

I don't understand the couple of people who said they find Matt dull! I don't think we've seen much of him on ITT though as they're up in Scotland so much and that might be why. Also they've tended to show serious bits and not the funny side of his personality so much. A shame as if you watch BtF or even carol's vids you can see more of that side of him.

Even so though, I still don't think he's the slightest bit dull. He has such a great attitude and is such a brilliant dancer and a great partner to Carol. Oh well, each to their own and everyone has their own taste - I find Ian very bland and most people seem to love him.

To everyone in Cutlerland, they really don’t need defending. If being kind and considerate, professional and talented isn’t enough for an SCD audience, then maybe they should take their talents elsewhere. Obviously a shame for those who absolutely love them but I shall definitely be tracking their careers and hope to see them live at some time giving a demonstration dance (if they return to competition, even better).

Back to the question.

I know everyone wants SCD to survive as long as possible and I have tried to think what will benefit the show, long term.

My concern is that they will not get quality celebrities if the real celebrities of the show are the professionals. OK it works for a few (Anton, Erin, Lilia and maybe Ian) but not for the rest. I know this is a judgement call, but here goes.

SCD need a bank of professionals they can call on, once they have booked the celebrities. They need professionals who are tall/short. Dancers who can work with storylines of passion/technique. They need motivational teachers as well as strict/kind teachers. They need professionals who can cope with the various sport/artistic temperaments. I know there are more ......

The first name on my list is always the person I think SCD would want back, if a second name appears, it is because they are partners and, I assume, one wouldn’t SCD without them being included:

Karen – maybe a judge or advisory role
Anton – moving to a more advisory role soon

Erin
Brendan – if a suitable partner was available. I think he’s enough of a star to say no to a bad partner.
Lilia and Darren
Ian and Camilla – I see their association for maybe one more series
Flavia and Vincent – a limited shelf life

Matthew and Nicole – tall and short
Andrew and Hanna – short and short
(all great friends and intricately linked)

I’ve gone for 12 couples.

I just want to see Paul back.. And less couples. I really miss the feel of the first series.

I thought it was a shame John didn't come back. He had a lot to do with the set up oif the show any everything. But he had a new baby so you can understand. I thought Kylie was fab as well!

Part of me wants a whole new set of pros, part of me would cry if all my faves didn't come back!!

As long as Erin comes back I'm not bothered.

Ian and Camilla
Anton
Nicole and Matt
Flavia and Vincent
Brendan and Karen

Erin and Anton SCD is not going to be the same without them, missing them already!

Keep the pros as this season with the exception of James and Ola - just didn't take to them replace them with the fab Andrew and Hanna

Bring back:

Vincent & Flavia (he's great character to have around, cracks me up and she deserves a proper 'go' at SCD).
Ian & Camilla (superb, constant factor)
Lillia & Darren ('Part of the furniture' really but as a couple reasonably boring, imo. Great dancers though)
Karen (just seems to love 'coming out of retirement' for this show so much; that comes across)
Brendan (no SCD, without Bad Boy B.)
Matthew (is 'clean cut' and also slightly boring in my eyes, but is just a great dancer you'd want on the show).


That's it.
All the others passed & present (not mentioned) I'm quite indifferent about, although I do love Anton's ballroom dances. He & Erin can (just) do pro-dances in the next series.

i also love karen and lilia....camillas grown on me this series also.
i dont like vincent but i find him hilarious (laughing AT him though), and i really didnt mind james jordan - i again found him funny (was trying his hardest to be the bad boy (unsuccessfuly) over brendan)

I like Darren & Lilia, I just don't *love* them.

I find Vincent really sweet. There must be more people that like him!
