Can anyone think of two different songs from different artists that have very similar intros? (Excluding dance music.)

For example:

Coldplay - In My Place
and
The Darkness - Love is Only a Feelings

or

John Lennon - Imagine
and
Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger

or maybe

Iggy Pop - The Passenger
and
Kingmaker - 10 Years Asleep

or the first 2 notes of...

Eternal - Save Our Love
and
Dina Caroll - Don't Be a Stranger

or

Boyzone - Picture of You
and
Spice Girls - Stop

And then there are obvious ones like Eamon/Frankee!

Any more?

My Coo Catchoo by Alvin Stardust and
Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum

Saw ol' Alvin on TOTP2 at the weekend and remembered what a massive Spirit rip-off the whole song is.
I also remembered that he is a very strange man.

Hearing My Coo Ca Choo again made think of that dreadful Kasabian song "Shoot the Runner".

The Kinks : "All Day and All of the Night" and "You Really Got Me" both sound similar, albeit not identical. You can certainly tell the same band is doing it!

Edit: my fault for not reading....i thought you could have the same artist!

I always get Iggy Pop's 'lust for life' confused with Jet's 'Are you gonna be my girl' at the beginning for some reason.

Good one! If my memory serves me correctly, I think the Dr & The Medics version is more similar to Coo Catchoo?

The first few bars of Walking on the Moon by Police sound very similar to Hard Days Night by The Beatles.

Just had a listen and, wow, yes! Almost impossible to tell them apart.

Yes, that hard guitar chord is almost the same noise.

Dunno, but I think the main riff and the "layout" (for want of a better word) of the song are the same for both versions.

Besides, saying it was more similar to the Doctor's version would clear Mr Stardust's name and that just isn't on!

LOL.......when you originally posted that The Guillemots song title evaded you I played 'Chelsea Dagger's' intro then ran through the Guillemots album 'til I got to one that matched.......fortunately, 'Trains To Brazil' is only track three......

I don't think they're actually the same, but the intro to Shoot The Runner always makes me think of Vindaloo (the song).

Also, the opening to Nelly Furtado's Maneater sounds a lot like the opening to Bohemian Like You.
