Rename recorded programmes?
RufusA
21-11-2006
I have quite a lot of "kiddies" programmes in my record history - different episodes of the same programme.

Sadly with a demanding 2 year old who wants to watch "Mio Mao with the penguin" at short notice, it can be quite frustrating locating the right one, particularly when the descriptions aren't in the EPG.

Is there any way of renaming a programme once it has recorded via a hidden menu option?

Failing that has anyone tried using FusionVW or Syphon to update the programme names?

TIA - Rufus.

Assuming you are talking about the DHD4000, the only thing you can do to get different names, but only before recording, is to set up the recordings manually instead of via the EPG. Then you can call them what you like. Once recorded, I don't think there is anything you can do.

I have exactly the same problem, except the source is a 4 year old! It takes a little while but I use FusionVW and then burn them to DVD with my own titles. This also has the benefit of freeing up hard disk space.

That's my current plan, and have a laptop full of kiddies programmes waiting to burn. Just would be nice if I could leave a few on the Thomson for "emergencies" whilst "Daddy" gets his act together.

Thanks albert, I knew you could name manual programmes prior to recording (though you have less characters to play with than the full EPG titles), but seems an oversite you couldn't edit existing programme titles.

Oh well, might have a go with FusionVW - just need to back up everything first!
