I didnt like Mark at all, he stood in the same place for ages and jus moved him arms, it was the most boring Rumba I have seen.

Well I 'spose if you prance around with "weak knees" wiggle a lot, stroke yourself and have a silly grin on your face all the time , you're bound to get a good score.
Or were we watchin' someone else?

Don't know who on earth you were watching!!
Emma was brilliant, I really really enjoyed their cha cha!!!!

In response to CaroUk, what an absolute load of *****!

I don't really know what to say in response to that! It was not her best dance but she still had TECHNIQUE which is something neither of the ones you mentioned had. And also, I didn't notice her touching herself at all, and her cha cha was far superior to anything Carol produced, her dance was neat but thats the best thing I can think to say about it. Neat and dull!

In response to funkyfairy's question, it was much better than Mark's sterile rumba and in my opinion, better than their cha cha. Maybe Mark danced better but in terms of choreography, I much preferred Darren's. Karen's choreography for their dance was typical Karen stylee - very camp and quite old fashioned.

I'm sorry - I can't subscribe to the '<insert name here> didn't deserve to be in the bottom 2' line of thought.

Just about everyone this year who has gone didn't actually have their worst week when they had to exit stage left.

A celeb/dancer/couple/whatever is in the bottom 2 because they didn't score high enough with the judges and viewers combined - and so from that point of view anyone who is in the bottom 2 does deserve to be there!

Even Len said again that sh had bent knees and bad technique- and actually they have criticised her technique every week- Craig, on ITT, said it didn't matter however as she smiles nicely- paraphrase but what he meant.

With regard to choreography- if Darren is so special why has Emma done more or less the same steps for the last two weeks? This series he has not been as good as in the last two IMO. Karens routines are normally pretty good- she may not be groundbreaking in your eyes but at least Mark can manage to do the steps- surely thats fairly important no?!!

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.

However might I suggest you go and find the clip on the BBC website or youtube and watch the first half of Emmas routine where she clearly strokes her right hand across and up and down her body several times....

Its perfectly obvious to all except those who cannot or don't want to see!

Her ChaCha was clunky, boring and lacked technique - (the latter was something 3 of the 4 judges commented on.) Carol's wasn't perfect and the music was appalling but her technique was good and had Emma danced that routine as well as Carol did we'd have seen 9s not 8s and 7s.....

I can watch the routines with an objective eye as I am not a rabid fan of any of the couples - yet. I don't have pet hates or favourites and I can recognise a good or bad routine when I see it

I do agree that it wasn't her best dance, but I honestly think that its only because she is usually so good that she got the score she did.
I actually liked the music Carol danced to, its the first piece that Matt has chosen that I actually enjoyed, but I'm not sure how well it works as a cha cha! But I thought her dance was dull, and IMO she didn't dance as well as Emma, or certainly no better!
Of course you're entitled to an opinion, but comparing Emma's cha cha to Georgina's rumba and Claire's salsa (the two worst dances of the series) just isn't very realistic.
I'm also not a 'rabid fan' of any couples. I just don't like to see Emma slated continually when she's one of the best dancers on the show!

Also, in response to FelineFantastic, Darren's choreography this series has been awesome IMO, his Viennese waltz was beautiful, as was his quickstep.

I LOVED the music Matt danced to but thats not the point!
Ok so it wasnt Emmas best dance but thats no reason to say she was appauling!
Every couple on this show so far have had a week or so when they haven't had a best dance!
She's doing brilliantly and am SO excited about their smooth! This couple are fantastic!

Nonsense - you may not have liked it, and even his fans agree it wasn't his best, but if you think he stood in the same place moving his arms you must have been watching something or someone else!

She does have potential, and the more work she puts in the better, and Darren will certainly whip her back to their brilliant standard, IMO.
With the talent comment, she has had more of a career than the other Spice Girls, which means she must be able to sell records; otherwise she would have been dropped by her label.
I actually thought this would be a positive thread about Emma; how wrong could I be.”

answering this poster is usually a waste of time as he replies with the same things all the time which is a load of vitriolic verbalisation at emma
it is the same with every thread about her.. .. .boring boring
i'm convinced he had a relative who missed getting in the spice girls and he vents his spleen on her at every occasion

he hardly ever (if ever)says anything about her dancing .....so best to ignore him

Totally agree with that

I just hate the fact that most of her critics seem to be disliking her because of the fact she was favourite to win from the beginning!!

MATT & LILIA....DARREN&EMMA...you rock!!!!!

I dont want to offend anyone but I personally feel that Emma has an advantage over the others.
I know Alrlene says they werent the best dancers but she has spent years learning lots and lots of choreography with the spice girls and I know its different from ballroom ect but she still been dancing and learning lots of routines. I would like to see someone who hasnt had such an advantage win.
princess_katy
23-11-2006
In that case Louisa has even more advantage surely?
Ok so Louisa wasn't in a girl group but she has been doing dance classes since she was 3 or something ridiculous! Again, not ballroom and latin so its ok, but she too is used to learning routines etc etc!!! And yet no one seems against the idea of Louisa winning.....ir I could have just missed those topics...

No I agree with you on Louisa as well but i think Emma has a massive advantage she danced for a living for 4 years day in day out.

I think it gives them a massive advanatge over Carol, Claire, Zoe ball ect ect.

thats such a load of b******s what dancing in the spice girls, she wiggled her hips a bit. Surely Louisa went to stage school too. and really the athletes have more advantage as they are more flexible due to their disiplines. also Jill Halfpenny went to stage school and won series 2 so

You call what she did in the Spice Girls dancing??? Have you watched her in the SG???? Dear god!

That was probably the funniest post I've read today!

On that criteria I would be unable to enter the 'competition' (of course, I'm not semi-famous either but ... ). I dance better than Emma did in the Spice Girls and what she did in the group was little more than wiggle her hips and any girl on a night out at a club can do that!!! Some of them a lot better than Emma!

And no, I'm not denigrating her either. I happen to like her but honestly, these 'advantages' that she allegedly has are non-existent!

Posh talked about the gruelling dance routines and in all their concerts there was vigorous dance routines that were most definitly more that a hip wiggle. And Geri said she found the complicated dance routines for shows and concerts very hard.

Point is she is used to learning and repeating dance routines as part of her job, now I doubt Clare King and Carol Smilie learnt such dance routines on sets of Emmerdale and Changing rooms.

Whatever did you see the spice girls routine, STOP was mainly the hands and moving there hips a bit nothing like this at all. Why is it that people are still having a go for goodness sake get a life. I’m sure everyone of them have had dancing whether its in a girl group, in a club or whatever. Some have a natural rhythm and movement.
