My Top Ten
Just my top ten (well not strictly a top ten but you get what I mean). I only started watching SCD last year so I'm afraid I haven't got Jill's Jive up here which I understand is an SCD legend
1) Zoe's Tango....I'm always partial to a good Tango/Paso and this was absolutely brilliant. The drama and technique quickened my heart =2) Colin's American Smooth/Rumba...Really can't decide between these two. Colin fairly sparkled in both, and in my opinion applied the smackdown to those who said he was a personality-free zone 3) Darren's Paso....had a big issue with some of his more "blokey" utterances but loved this Paso especially with the Flamenco steps at the beginning. 4) Colin's Foxtrot....a proper Foxtrot with proper music...and he led beautifully 5) Colin's Quickstep...a proper Quickstep with proper music...and he led beautifully 6) James's Tango...He was on the receiving end of some venomous posts from me but I genuinely loved this Tango. Using "Mein Herr" and the idea of James as puppeteer was inspired 7) Dennis's Jive....Perhaps a forgotten one here. But I had a real soft spot for Dennis. Was always a good mover but perhaps his shape and age meant he wasn't as agile as he could have been 8) Patsy's Tango...Loved the cheeky bit at the end and the slap she gave Anton 9) Ray's Cha Cha Cha...fairly sparkled on the dancefloor. Great start to the competition. 10) Mark's Cha Cha Cha....great tune and great moves. |

Well the top ten is way flawed as Jill and Darrens Jive is 100% the best strictly dance ever followed by Darrens free style last dance with all those fantstic lifts.
and if you think Dennis had good funny dances Chris Parker beats them all |

and if you think Dennis had good funny dances Chris Parker beats them all I already said Jill's Jive wasn't in there as it was before I started watching SCD. I saw Darren's Jive and wasn't as moved by it as I was by his Paso. And actually Dennis's dance isn't there because I think it's funny...it's there because I think it's good. And my top ten ISN'T flawed as it is MY top ten and no-one else's. |

Well most SCD fans top ten will cover all 4 series, and I did read your original . and when i said jill and darren i meant Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett. And you asked others opinions and this is what i gave yay. I thought all Dennis dances were good but funny on the smae scale as Chris Parker |

I'm afraid series 2 included some of the best dancers and memorable dances, with Denise Lewis, so your list is very limited, sorry.

Believe me Kiera I have tried. It seems the ones of Jill and Denise must be very popular as it takes just about forever to load (and I've got broadband). If and when the BBC decides to put SCD out on DVD all I'm left with are the two series I'm familiar with |

Comment all you like.....but saying my top ten is flawed when it is already a personal choice of mine is meaningless.....if I wanted to I could put Peter Schmeichel's samba at no.1 |

You wanted other lists, so here's mine from the last two years - I haven't seen the others.
They aren't in any particular order. 01. Carol and Matthew's foxtrot 02. James and Camilla's tango 03. Bill and Karen's cha cha 04. Darren and Lilia's paso doble 05. Colin and Erin's rumba 06. James and Camilla's waltz 07. Peter and Erin's tango 08. Louisa and Vincent's jive 09. Darren and Lilia's foxtrot 10. Mark and Karen's salsa Last edited by quackaquacka : 21-11-2006 at 20:05. |

Now we're getting into semantics. But I did say MY top ten. I was also mindful that many many people regard Jill's Jive as the best dance on SCD bar none...which is exactly why I put the qualifier in that I hadn't seen it. As I said before perhaps those like yourself who have seen all four series could compile a top ten that does encompass all four series |

....I'm just nosey me ![]() Very glamorous, old Hollywood style, and I really love that. 02. James and Camilla's tango Really inventive, and I loved the way it gave him a character to get into. 03. Bill and Karen's cha cha So much fun, I've probably watched it more than any other SCD dance. 04. Darren and Lilia's paso doble It suited him, I think, it let him be more masculine than some of the other dances, and take control. 05. Colin and Erin's rumba Beautifully executed, and very moving. 06. James and Camilla's waltz One of his best dances, I loved it. 07. Peter and Erin's tango Very masculine role, and he was great at it. 08. Louisa and Vincent's jive Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, especially after I heard about Vincent's injury, but the choreography was clever and they pulled it off brilliantly. 09. Darren and Lilia's foxtrot Just love it. One of my favourite routines. Performed brilliantly. 10. Mark and Karen's salsa The drama! Great routine, energetic and exciting. Thanks for that quacks...soooooo agree about James and Camilla's Tango (but then I'm a bit partial to the Tango and Paso as my list probably reflects
). I was really into Louisa's Jive as well. Probably the best one of the series so far for me.

OK Diamondlife - I read your post as being YOUR top 10 and the caveat that it didn't have series 2 in it.... so here's mine.....
1. Denise and Ian's Quickstep - absolutely fabulous performed a great speed and with some fantastic touches like the trombone playing.... 2. Brendan & Natasha's Foxtrot - this was the dance where we saw the future winner come to life 3. Lesley and Anton's Christmas show Waltz - we saw how she was robbed by Parkergate 4. James and Camilla's Waltz - brought tears to my eyes - beautiful choreography and perfect music 5. Julian and Erin's Showdance - he did the Officer and Gentleman thing brilliantly (and I loved the way he sanpped back at Craig!) 6. Denise and Ian's Samba - no celeb has come near beating this one! 7. Aled and Lilia's Samba to walking in the Air - pure magic.... 8. Colin and Erin's Rumba - those lines were to die for! 9. Darren & Lilia's Paso - as the OP above - it was fab! 10. Brendan & Sarah's Paso - dr5amatic or what??? My comedy value dance has to be Dennis & Izabela's Paso - those hands those hands..... and I must be the only person on here who didn't like Jill and Darren's Jive.... I thought her free arm was all over the place at times... Last edited by CaroUK : 21-11-2006 at 20:53. |

Thanks for that CaroUK...the sooner the BBC comes out with a DVD the better. Denise's name seems to popping up quite a lot and I never seen her shake a leg as yet. I could never imagine a Samba to "walking in the air"
......."Parkergate" made me laugh even if I didn't get quite what you meant by it
