Motorola V360 or Sony Ericsson Z530i?

I'm looking for a o2 Pay As You Go flip phone for under £100 and I found the two that I mentioned in the topic title.

Does anyone have any of these phones and would be able to confirm/put to rest some of my worries about them?

With the Motorola V360 I've heard that the battery life isn't that great.

With the SE Z530i, apparently it's not great with texting.

I mostly use my phone for texting (and I will use it for the MP3 player instead of my iPod shuffle right now), so it's important that it can handle texting well.

Also, I'd like to know for either of them how quick the menus and texting is. My currently phone is a bit sluggish when texting so sometimes I have to wait until it catches up - that's not something I really want, but if everything else is good with either of the phones then I am willing to accept it.

Plus, if anyone knows of any other o2 Pay As You Go flip phones for under £100 (or just over) that are better than either of these, then please show me where I can find it.

Thanks!

Hey Beagle2. Im in a similar situation to you but I'm looking for a Samsung phone with a limit of £130!

Anyway, I've been researching phones a lot lately so I thought I'd give you some advice.

Why don't you consider the Sony Ericsson W300i? It's very similar to the Z530i but I think it's newer. It's part of the new Sony Walkman range and it has an MP3 player and FM Radio. There are even mini speakers you can get for it! It's also a very small and light flip phone. I know two people that own it and are perfectly happy. At the moment it's anywhere between £80 and £120 depending on where you look. I'm not sure how available it is on o2 though.

Let me know what you think of it

I know this might be a bit rude, but would you be able to ask them how fast/sluggish it is for texting or if they've had any other problems with it?

No worries - I have looked at the W300i, but it's a little more than I'd want to spend on a phone... or rather a little more than I'd like to ask my parents to spend on one Christmas present...

If I did that, I wouldn't get as many other presents.

I'll need to ask them about it - I might be able to convince them.

haha. i know how you feel, my parents would never spend more than £100 on me for a phone! but luckily i have a job now so i can pay some money towards the phone i want to get. personally i would spend a little more on a newer, better phone. at least it would last longer otherwise before you know it you'll be looking for a new phone again!

I've had a better look at the W300i now and I think I might go for that and just pay the extra if need be.

Anyone have and bad comments about the W300i?

OK, forget about the W300i... I realised how pissed off I would be if I lost it or it got stolen while I was at uni - I wouldn't want to shell out another £130 to replace it.

So - back to the original 2 then - V360 or Z530i.

LOL back to the original huh?! I have to say Z530i just buy looking at it, it looks like a better all round performer. But hey that's just what I think

Yeah I think that's the one I'll end up going for...
