Just wondering if it'll be 16th December? I may have to work and I'll be gutted if I have to miss the final having been glued to the whole series.

Sad, but true!

It finishes 23rd December, there is currently a spare week with the departure of Jimmy Tarbuck, so don't know how the BBC will fill that.

There's 6 couples so it'll be 3 more weeks to the final. It should be 16 Dec, what a shame I won't be able to watch it.

I would imagine it will tie in with the X Factor final, which is the 16th Dec, so the winners single can be released before Xmas.

This would mean if it stays one couple out per week that there would be 3 in the SCD final, 2 in the X Factor final.

According to a host on the BBC POV board, the final is on Christmas Eve

Christmas eve is a stupid time to have the final!!!!!
But never mind, the final will be awesome whenever it is!

According to the Sun Xmas TV Guide today, there is also a Xmas Festive special - doesn't give days for that or the final though, so not a great guide!!

Don't worry, that was just my guess to coincide with the X Factor final.....i could well be wrong if the BBc site says it's Xmas eve....

It's starting to look odds on 16th December with 23rd as a festive filler. I wish we could have a definitive answer tho. Trying to arrange a friendly get-together for final night (men in the kitchen with beer, women in sitting room with a bottles of mother's ruin and children floating from X-Factor to SCD - not gender stereotyping - just exactly what happened last year).

Nope, there should be 7 couples left at this stage, but Tarbuck left, so.....not.

If it's the 23rd won't they have to do something else to fill one week

Instead of having the usual 3 in the final may make the 'spare' week a semi therefore leaving the final as a straight 2 horse race!! Would be able to fill it with more professional dancing and would make quite good sense.

No there's the "Exciting twist" to come.

It will always be a three couple final. The third couple is to split the vote so the favourite doesn't make the result a foregone conclusion as far as the viewers are concerned and people will still vote.

Thanks for all your replies, it still doesn't seem clear though, does it?! Last year's final was 17th December and then there was a Christmas special the week after, so I was thinking it would be roughly the same dates....

Hey Claudia... if you're reading the forum, can you let us know please?!

It doesn't have to be a three couple final. Series 1 didn't have a three couple final.

Admittedly, it was rubbish, becuase everyone knew that N&B would win. But I wouldn't rule it out 100%.
