sony home cinema????
Hi there
I am thinking of upgrading my old tired home cinema with something with some oomph! I have seen this sony davdz111 cinema kit for 169.99 in argos. Has anyone got any reviews on this? Any good? Thanks TB http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/5335093.htm |

Depends what you want from it. Don;t think it has any inputs ... certainly not a digital input.

Hi, Sorry for delay (pc been down) Well my other half bought this for me for xmas. I set this up and I have a question........ When you play a dvd , can you hear sound from dvd playing through your tv? I have mine connected via scart, and can only get sound through the surround speakers, not the TV. Also I appear to be getting some sound / picture slightly out of sync. Any ideas anyone please. Lastly, the dvd player seems to take a while reading disc at beginning, and skipping scenes. My old bush dvd player is a lot quicker. (playing interactive dvd game takes an age) Any advice ????????? Thanks for all advice and have a great new year TB |

Firstly - tyou're not supposed to hear anything through the TV, as that would disrupt the surround sound. So that's fine!
Secondly - Some players take longer to load up than others and there's not much you can do about that. BUT skipping scenes is definitely a fault so I'd take it back. |

Cant see from the Argos link re other inputs, but this is important especially if you go to Sky+ or HD as they both have optical digital outputs which you would need to feed into your amp. you should consider using it for all sound sources not just the DVDs.

Rgds, Scorp On a similar note, have ordered this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-HT-T...404304-0130835 Would like to know if this can be used with sky HD or if i wanted the sound to come from the tv to the speakers, could i connect the speakers from the tv. Would like to buy: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Desi...&s=electronics But the price difference is big. Hopefully someone can give me some advise! |
